This was done at 5300 feet. Not sure what the conversion is per each rep but this was a big confidence booster. Merch: theathletespecial.com Insta: / theathletespecial Strava: / strava

This was awesome, there is something magic about how you capture this flavor of the runners life, especially in certain videos that are right in the feels of it - beautiful honestly When all you can remember driving you is this dream to be a better runner....

Running fast is overrated, I can do a 3:27 uphill mile at 25% grade in trainers strapped to a ram 3500 I don't feel anything anymore
@pablocalderon92814 жыл бұрын
Spencer ran so fast that at the end his eyebrows were missing
@RoadrunnerTrainingProjects4 жыл бұрын
1:58 is fast after two reps up here. Although don’t know what that would translate to for a full on mile. The next 400 is what normally gets people. Sub 4 I would think, but how far under?

Trevor Murphy I live here. I am very familiar. Grew up at 10,000 ft. You get roughly 6 to 7 seconds conversion from the track he ran on. The turns on that track are a little tight as well.
@landyncb87514 жыл бұрын
Roadrunner Training Projects he ran on a normal outdoor track
@RoadrunnerTrainingProjects4 жыл бұрын
Landyn Cooke-Bithrey all normal outdoor tracks are 400m, but some have less aggressive turns and some have more aggressive turns. For example I coach at a school where the 1500m start line is significantly on a corner. In college most were at the start of the straight. He is also running at a middle school in Boulder, and typically they aren’t too worried about making those corners wider. Weird I know. But the tracks aren’t as standardized as you think. Sometimes the hurdle placement markings can even be different colors.
@cryocoda4 жыл бұрын
Landyn Cooke-Bithrey yeah the turns look tight. You can see it in the video at 6:47 as well, look at how spencer almost slows down to a stop as he turns.

Great video! Bet you were thinking how something this much fun could hurt so much! Like all this kind of video it takes me back several decades! Serious question. What was the altitude of the session and how much slower do you think the first two reps were because of the altitude? Just under 2:05 was worth what at sea level? Never run at altitude myself but from what I've read this sort of sustained effort (as opposed to an slower paced long run) is the really difficult thing to do.

How abnormal is the following ::::: After 30 reps of intervals(1w:2r)ratio I ran two concecitive %100 sprints with 40s of rest and my heart beat stayed very high for 10min , then it came back to normal. Is this usually happens? Or I pushed my self too hard.
@alimasoumy30314 жыл бұрын
@@paul16966 I play football (soccer), my workout is like Jhon Tery cardio. 20 seconds of running with the speed of 21km, rest for 40 seconds, I do this for 15 reps, then rest for 7mins I do another 15 reps rest for another 7min,,start sprinting 10 reps for 60m or 40 m with 100 percent effort with a rest of 2-3 min rest between each sprint,, I did not have any problem before, but for the first time I did two concecitive 100 percent sprint of 40m my time was 4.9 and 4.95 but the rest was only 40seconds between two sprints and after second sprint my heart beat stayed very high it felt uncomfortable I was terrified but after 10min my heart rate came down. I am afraid to push myself that hard in case.
