4:57 you have the scope mnounted on the 11mm part of the rail. The 20mm picatinny rail is below that. its a 2 in one design. You can see the space available in your scope rings to drop down to the next rail.
@BC_BALLISTICS4 ай бұрын
yes, as mentioned in the video, i prefer to use the dovetail portion on these Kral/ Reximex rails. The lower "picatinny" portion is not cut to standard picatinny sizing and often varies from one model to the next. occasionally it is spot on picatinny, but often if is closer to weaver. it is easier to just default to using dovetail rings on these guns, at least in my opinion.

turning the reg up don't really do as much as you think . The main restrictions is the size of the valve port . Drill it out to 3mm and with reg set to 100bar it will give you 700fps with 18.13gn pellets
@BC_BALLISTICS5 ай бұрын
I appreciate the info! I was mostly thinking that some guys would prefer easier access to the reg to fine tune their shot counts, fps spread, or to find a sweetspot power wise for their favorite pellet, not necessarily for just increasing power :)
@francisdaoust58625 ай бұрын
The valve port is near 5mm so the restriction is not this. The barrel port is oval and just a bit smaller than 3/16 of a inch. Polishing and making a radius flare on the valve port and barrel port will get you 20 extra fps. The hammer spring was at max tension, the valve port wide open reg at 100bar for a total of 550fps with crosman premier ultra magnum at 14.3 gr. I belive another 10 or 20 fps is possible if I radius flare the port of the boddy. For the extra fps, it will need a bigger plenum, longer barrel and increasing the regulator pressure... any other point will be welcom also
@francisdaoust58624 ай бұрын
@@BC_BALLISTICS after futher searching, I most admit that they put a small restriction at the port of the valve where the hammer strike (pre chamber rear tap). You can unscrew it and it should help alot. I did not test on the cronograph yet

I was thinking of getting one of these, but I didn't like the fact that when scoped, it was going to weigh as much as my Diana model 48. Plus the fact that it has been neutered. Still a nice looking gun though.
@BC_BALLISTICS6 ай бұрын
Ya, not much can be done about the weight... full sized rifle weight for sure. A carbon bottle and lighter scope would help a bit but it kinda just is what it is. As for the detuned nature of the gun, I wanted a detuned one anyway lol so that suits me just fine. I have plenty of high powered guns and I find that I either don't shoot them much or I shoot them on lower power settings. But i can see the drawback it would be to some people... that's being said sub 500 in .25 is plenty capable of pesting and small game. Just not a long range.

@BC_BALLISTICS3 күн бұрын
i haven't looked into tuning up the throne just yet... but i'm guessing that the main way they detuned it is by using a smaller transfer port and having seen inside some of the kral detuned guns i'm guessing it would have to be drilled out. unfortunately.

Is it possible to retune this detuned version to PAL velocities (of course, provided you have a PAL license to legally own the retuned version)?

@BC_BALLISTICS5 ай бұрын
Hmmm I don't think so, I've been pushing my cheek into the single shot tray for over a month now and it's not as bad as you'd think lol... and the mag is at least rounded... and worst case, you could always slide the scope back a few millimeters if the mag was pressing into your cheek too hard. .. but like you said, subjective, so its hard to say really... lol what's their return policy like 😂

Its not tuned well for lower power, if you swap out the hammer spring and open up the transfer port to 4.5mm if its not already you can get 300 shots per fill as you can achieve the same fps at a lower reg pressure.

Hello, I just purchased this air rifle. My decision was solidified after watching your excellent review. I am expecting my rifle on Monday and can hardly wait! I am new to this sport and am only interested in target practice with my rifle. That being said I am in Abbotsford BC and am wondering if you or anyone else has suggestions on where to go to practice. Is this a shooting range you are at in the video or do you just find a quiet location? Thanks in advance to all who reply.
@BC_BALLISTICS21 күн бұрын
@@craighughes4598 that's a great question than many people have, but that unfortunately doesn't have an easy answer... I'll try my best though. Most cities in canada have bylaws that prevent us from legally using airguns in our own yards, or anywhere in city limits, so you'll need one of 3 things... property outside of city limits where there is no bylaw, a membership at a shooting range, or access to crown land where you're allowed to shoot. To be fair, many people do shoot low powered airguns in their back yards, but i would never advise someone to do that, most neighbors are nosey and easily frightened of anything even remotely gun shaped lol... shooting ranges are the easiest, just join up and go shoot :) that's mostly where I shoot. there are lots of great ranges in the lower mainland, if you don't have your PAL though that becomes more difficult. And I'd suggest looking into it. It's handy to have! As for crown land, the easiest and most common spot to shoot i can think of is up the Florence lake service road, up along the left hand side of stave lake in mission. You can always search up this sort of information on reddit, many more knowledgeable people than i have discussed this for years and they may have better answers. I hope that helps a little, you can always message me on Instagram if you have more questions, its easier to chat on there. I hope you enjoy you're new airgun! I'm loving my Throne, it's in my regular rotation of airguns and I haven't have a single problem with it. Airguns are a great hobby, and once you get a few kinks worked out, like where to shoot, it's pretty straight forward and relaxing!

Why would anyone want a sub 500 fps air rifle???
@BC_BALLISTICS5 ай бұрын
well, there are actually lots of different useful and fun applications for low powered guns, depending on the caliber of the gun... but those reasons aside, here in Canada 500fps marks the cut off between airguns that don't require a firearm license and those that do. and not everyone wants a firearm license but they still want to shoot airguns. that being said, i have mine and i have plenty of full powered airguns but i still enjoy shooting sub 500fps often, i guess its just a particularity of our gun laws here in Canada.
