Loving the character development. While I can see why people want more cardfights, I like this format too. Yes, Cardfight exists in OverDress, but I still like how it's used to develop characters and the story, and tackling some surprisingly real issues we go through in life (Tohya...). I prefer this over the constant advertisement that: "Hey, you heard about Cardfight? See, we do these cool Cardfight things. Have I told you how cool Cardfight is yet, because it's really cool! Here, we do cool Cardfight things, you see. Hey, want to see another episode where I repeat the same thing I just told you over and over?" I'm not saying the original didn't have moments like that, but I prefer this laid back style and let characters be characters experiencing real people moments. It's why I loved the previous episode as well. As well as episode 6. The only episode I'm a little "Eh" on was episode 5. But this show has been great so far, and I can't wait to see what'll happen next.

Also, i was pretty desapointed with her backstory, i thought it would be something more interesting after her interaction with her brother in EP3 if im not mistaken. Her backstory is like "oh, i'm rich, bored and my brother is away > omg, my brother's friend show me something fun, imma simp for him", that wouldn't be a problem if she talked to her brother instead of waiting for him to take the first step, it seems that they talked normally before, so no reason for her to not talk to him, at least during meals, and she could "substitute" him with school friends, if she cared to make some. Everything seems to be like it is because she doesnt care to change it one bit and has to wait for people to do the something first, worst backstory yet.

Yea they seem to be prioritizing the plot over the cardgames like Wixoss, which for the first four seasons worked well enough because of the psychological horror aspect but then Div (A) Live dragged its heels, got good for one episode and went right back to being mediocre again. Least _this_ show has good main characters to carry it with. Div (A) Live's best characters were secondary characters and there were barely any.

I think this might be my favorite episode very well done and self contained. The first part written and presented very much in a novel literary format, middle was hilarious and the cardfight at the end was well made i was able to follow the fight completely unlike some of the other fights.

I like Yu-yu's gang a bit more than Aichi and friends (excluding best girl Misaki) in the original, and especially in V-series. The cardfights are used as a vehicle by the show to build character. If you find that boring, then fine, it's not for you. But that doesn't mean that it is objectively boring.

@@Electric4Pie Well, yes. Everyone can do the exact same thing Megumi did when it's their turn. And yes, her 6 attack barrage is alot. Though, easily she could have blocked two with her intercepts, took two hits, and guarded the rest EZ. Especially after pulling those two crit triggers earlier during her triple drive. And when it goes back to her turn, boom she just imprisons everything again and gets her triple drive back. Not to mention, Seraph snow gets a 10k boost for having just one card in the prison, and Tomari's deck is more than likely filled with Imprision cards, and Seraph Snow can imprison twice for a C-Blast. Like OP said tho, if megumi pulled an over trigger that's an Ez game over for Tomari, though the chances were slim for Megumi to do that.

Megumi had 3 cards in her hand, assuming one of them was Magnolia, as she "had it all along", even if the last 2 cards were 15k triggers, two Agra + Blue are both 23k columns, plus 10k triggers on each, 33k to Megumi's 13k, that's 25k to guard each of them. Megumi had 1 card left before persona riding, meaning she used 2 cards to survive Tomari's attack. They can't be 2 free PGs as she had 3 cards, she wouldve had to discarded her persona ride, and had only 1 card after draw phase. Even if she had an OT in her hand, she still can't guard the 2nd attack. MAYBE she got an overtrigger damage check, which is why she lived with 5 damage and an extra card in hand; Tomari should've won
