Thank you so much. Got the left and right codes simultaneously on a new engine build, and figured out both exhaust AVCS assemblies were binding (after losing sleep worrying about low oil pressure, oil contamination, etc.). I used a spare cam to check alignment during AVCS gear re-assembly.

If this gear wasn’t reassembled properly could it cause a valve ticking type noise?

Quick question . So the pin/guide that's coming out from the block/cam into the cam gear slides in the half moon not between the 3 holes. Hopefully you understand my question

You would make A LOT of MONEY if you made those tools and put them for sale on eBay. You could charge $45 each tool and sell millions world wide.

so u have options for replacement bolts for the avcs sensor the 3 bigger bolts that are 5 point

Which holes do you apply air too in order to release the pin (plunger)?

Nice video!!! Theres a SPRING on the exhaust pulleys on STi engines (09+). A friend of mine need TWO of these. Do you know where i can found them? He tried all over the internet and only found them both new (pulleys). Not just the springs! Thanks in advance!

If you are in the USA find a car with AVCS in the junkyard ? Try a salvage yard, or a part out on facebook marketplace, craigslist, or offerup.

try using a regular camshaft and making the compressed air test tool out of wood or something,
