🚘 Find the BEST Deal: quotes.negotia...
We begin by analyzing why Subaru, a brand celebrated for its reliability, is experiencing a glut with its most popular models. Are consumer tastes shifting, or is Subaru innovating in ways we haven't yet grasped? We’ll compare the inventory levels of different trims and discuss how this situation is unique to only some models like the Crosstreks and Outbacks.
Further, we delve into the financial aspects - discussing MSRP, invoice prices, and the best strategies for snagging a Subaru at a lower price, complete with tips from Edmunds.com. Also, we touch on promotional offers and leasing calculations that could benefit potential buyers.
Lastly, the video covers safety ratings from IIHS and feedback from Consumer Reports, providing a well-rounded view of what these stock levels could imply about the vehicles' reliability and consumer satisfaction.

Do yourself a favor and go drive an Outback Wilderness and come back to me with this manual nonsense! One thing to note, you can put the center shifter in manual mode, then use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel. Believe me when I tell you it will hold the gear range till you change it. So you can have your "manual" that you desire, but the question to my mind is why? When you have such nice gearing ratios, and I can see in offroad situations or some winter conditions fully agree but regular driving in manual? Come on!

@@tommc3622 I hear and appreciate what you are saying but you have put yourself in a box that you can't get out of. I love the OBW it suits me and yes I have not taken it off road yet but for me it's more than enough. I don't really rock crawl I do go up some f-ed up trails and bad ass roads but not into the bolder dash thing. This is by far the best Subaru has done for the outdoorsy crowd. I too have modified my Forester XT even had it to Cobb stage 1.5 till I mashed it up off roading 🙂 I did not want an Outback I wanted a new Turbo Forester. That aint happening any time soon the Forester is done they have switch this up to the Outback and no amount of crying is changing things. In hind sight I am so glad in the end as the Outback has better cargo for my Photography department. Also can put a mat next to the tripods and get some zeez without having to pitch a tent. Yea you can do that sort of in the Forester too but you have to shuffle everything around to get it don PITA! Bottom line there is not much choice out there and manual is not coming back any time soon. We are even going the way of the Dodo when it comes to ICE soon they are going to make us all have EV's kicking and screaming. For now there just isn't much choice unless you want to stay in the legacy used market. I can tell you that you are missing out and this thing is not some clunker you are making it out to be. The current Outback (Gen 6) rides and handles very nicely over Gen 5 and is quite fast with the turbo. But everything else about it is worse than Gen 5. Its new front end is UAF (though tolerable in contrasting dak colors IMHO). The front cabin is more cramped. Almost no storage. The rear slopes and has less storage and worse visibility out back. Fixed controls on the touchscreen address a lot of complaints of the earlier version but begs why don't they simply have physical controls for HVAC and other frequently used functions in the first place. The turbo will never be as smooth and refined as the glorious H3.6 was. The turbo doesn't seem to yield improved real-world MPG over the 3.6. I'm very curious to see what the 2026 redesign will bring (besides a much higher price).

There is something called the REAL WORLD safety. Look at Death Rate in Cars data, and the Insurance Claims for injuries data site. All the crash tests in the world will not save you if a car is not doing well in the real world. The thing about CrossTrek compared to Outback is in the pricing, should you opt. for the 2.5 engine model, as in Limited and Sport. Both can bring the price to levels above that of the Outback, which is a larger car. Thus some might see the pricing odd. CrossTrek is the cute UTE however.

@eskieman3948 This is what the Factory claims, and maybe there was some truth to it when nobody cared about paying an extra $1K for the auto when interest rates were 0% and there were so many new drivers were buying cars. But now that everyone is price sensitive in 2024, car prices are up 50% since covid, auto loans are 8-9%, is that still really the case? By now, the auto-buying public has given up their leverage and just said, "oh, well, the wife prefers the auto and it's not like I can't drive it, might as well get the auto". Now the auto is the default, regardless of what the buying public wants. Good parents want their kids to be able to drive a stick so their kids aren't stuck somewhere because the stick driver had too much to drink. So good parents are going to get their kids into a stick, whether it's subaru or not.

I’m a little frustrated that you are a professional car researcher and you can’t understand why the Outback has a lower reliability rating than the crosstrek. 2 factors. Foresters and Crosstreks have always rated higher because they have fewer standard features to break and less weight for less wear/tear. 2nd, turbos…outback has them… Crosstrek does not. 2 clear reasons to educated automotive researchers/enthusiasts

These videos try to claim (manufacturer of choice here)is failing and can't sell anything and they as a U-Tube auto industry expert know exactly why ? BS ! Yes vehicles are expensive and we as consumers are as much to blame as anything. We kept buying and buying overpriced and over tech out vehicles. Ordering and paying MSRP told the manufacturers consumers were willing to pay what they asked and often well above MSRP just to get a TRX or a Raptor. Now have we finally hit the wall ? Will prices come down ? Maybe.

Subaru’s customers are tired of their laziness. Just splashing a vehicle with cladding isn’t enough anymore. I loved my 2016 Outback 3.6R Limited. A lot of dumb answers here so let me give the correct one... Inventory is building up because, they refuse to make the changes people are going for, Heads up Display, Heated Steering Wheel, Surround View Camera, a bigger dynamic display, Blind Spot Monitoring Cameras. If you look at the interior on a 2018 compared to a 2024 Crosstrek it's almost the same. If you look at the Exterior on a 2018 as compared to a 2024, what do we have.....still with Halogen fog lights, really? The changes are a Wilderness package that provides some really stupid gold accents? It's a Japanese problem, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, they are slow to change and Korea is eating their lunch with features people want now.

@nopresetsnarklimit1675 most of what you listed was added in 2023. My 2024 Outback came with 4 heated seats. Heated steering. Large infotainment screen. Blind spot monitoring with lane control and warning. It tows 3500 lbs. 0 to 60 in 6 seconds. Reclining rear seats. Automatic seat and mirror positioning. Rides like a dream. Ibtest drove KIA and Hyundai and they felt kinda noisy and cheap in the cabin for not much less paid. Not sure what else to say.

I'm talking about blind spot CAMERA VIEW. Didn't mention towing, didn't mention 0-60, didn't mention reclining seats, didn't mention mirror position, are you just listing stuff you got instead to make you feel good? because all those things are pretty standard at the lowest trims of all makes these days. A large infotainment screen you say? I see, so you are saying just a bigger screen showing the same tired operating system that's been in place for years. Let me ask you this... does it show the current weather as its happening, not just the temp but a visual of clouds rain, day, night, snow, etc? Does it show you the entire vehicle from an aerial view in tight parking spots or still just a reverse camera? Funny that you mention that you test drove Kia and Hyundai so you know exactly the features I'm talking about that you are missing. Not exclusive to Korea. Ford, Chevy, Mercedes, all the electric models of course from many makers, Genesis, Jaguar, GMC etc include these items. Japan is exclusively stuck in their same tired ways and losing ground. Let me be very clear, loved Subaru, love me a Honda, I'd like a Toyota....but I'd never buy any of them these days, styling and amenities are stuck in the 90's.
