I was disappointed it took them so long to figure out what mode and TCS setting to plug in for the 3 roller test. Or is it intentional to showcase how the vehicle reacts to the wrong settings for the task at hand?

@@knightryder3757 it’s an intentional test to use all of the different drive modes. Despite the comments in regards to how terrible it did, it worked exactly as Subaru designed it. From maximum wheel spin to minimal.

@@haroldbeauchamp3770 Agreed that it worked as it should have for the 3 wheel slip in the settings where one would expect it to work. But putting the system in modes / settings where any experienced Subaru owner knows wouldn't work, and then be surprised when it doesn't work only fuels comments like "wow, that's disappointing", or "what a crappy AWD system". I think It just needlessly hurts the brand.

I respectfully disagree. Before my 2 Subarus (one fully mechanical transaxle, the second hybrid) I had a serious accident with a "people car" with thorsen lsdiff that (on a curvy road) initiated a vicious spin. Never again... 🙄

I am not a fun of these simulated roller tests. In fact where would you get that sort of ‘roller’ condition in real life. No where. Put good winter ice radials on and get out I. The real bad weather with it. So disappointed in this. It seems like a trash the Subie show.

What?? Youre clearly a subaru fan, its a valid test showing the capabilities of its awd system. Subaru has the best awd system. But it doesnt have a rear locking differential. You should be able to get those rollers from a industrial catalog.

@@iskdude9922 LOL. Not a Subaru ‘fan’. I needed an ‘AWD’ system to get me through the mountains and one that was an all the time AWD . Subaru fit that bracket at a price I could afford. I have been in the industry many years and worked with a manufacturer on their AWD system before the new abilities of the current systems were available. Also a lot of other manufacturers auto transmissions would over heat and pull codes or spin out various parts of the transmission. These little things are ok for the price . And I don’t have to select high and low range or hop out and lock in the hubs. LOL. A locking rear differential assembly is available for these things if you are into that sort of driving and I see people on other sites using them. .
