Great video-thanks for posting. If you are removing the wing and planning to renstall the same wing, queezing those push-pins is particularly critical to avoid snapping the plastic slots on the wing when pulling it up!

Anyone who has actually removed the spoiler with the intent of re-using it knows that this is a completely bogus claim. With the spoiler installed, only two of the five clips are accessible; three of the clips are hidden inside the spoiler when it is installed. "Pinching" the two clips that _are_ accessible (and are located near the middle of the spoiler) won't do squat. To remove the spoiler, first unbolt the two nuts and two screws that are holding the spoiler on, and then pull the spoiler in a horizontal direction away from the hatch body, starting on one end. After the clip on the end releases, the other four clips will release in succession as you work your way from one end to the other. There's no other way to release these clips. Some of the clips may have a small crack in their upper part afterwards, but they'll still work to hold the spoiler in place when you re-install the spoiler.

I was hoping somehow the gate was the same as the non spoiler version. I want to remove my spoiler bc I want to slide my cargo box back more without having to limit my gate height. Sucks bc I had the whole gate replaced after getting rear ended but didn't have the cargo box to know that it would get in the way. If I knew I would've had them replace it with a gate without spoiler.

While that is certainly what the Subaru Service Manual states, after removing the side trim panels and the LH power strut, I discovered that in fact, it is *not* necessary to remove the side hardware in order to remove the spoiler. Why the manual says this is beyond me.

I haven’t seen one, and the wing itself is hard enough to come by. Have you considered any options that extend the bike holder away from the back of the car anymore?

my 2016 Forester has no spoiler on it, and the back window washer nozzle is embedded in the center brake light; can i put one of these straight/flat line spoilers on it? but how do i keep the nozzle working? where would it go?

The 2 end pins aren't accessible and the middle one is very difficult to reach. What did you do for these?

It should be similar, but if the car didn’t come with a wing it will be very different and require drilling holes

I want to remove mine as the wing hits my kayaks on the roof and prevents rear the door opening but judging by the number of holes it leaves it would look quite bad. I also think the Subie looks better with it off.

Sorry no they have to come factory drilled.

larry bees It was from the subaru dealership. They have a stock of pre-painted wings. Contact your local dealership and they may be able to find one. There were only a few left
