Dawson, I’m glad you found my video helpful! One thing I forgot to mention, after the install drop the car on the floor or alignment rack and loose and retorque the suspension bolts to properly reset the rubber bushings in control arms. It will prevent them from premature cracking.

The best upgrade for the money! .75" Spacer will give you over an inch lift in the back. My rear camber after toe adjustment was still within limits but anything higher will require camber correction. Look at Primitive Racing or Subtle Solutions for rear alignment kits.

Why does the .75" spacer give over an inch in the rear while the .5" in the front only lifts the front .5" ?
@_GarageThings5 жыл бұрын
.75" equals over 1" lift? Doesn't make sense.. Is there a reason for this? I'm looking to raise .75" so do I go for a .5" spacer?

Hi very informative video i own a 2012 subaru sti sedan i installed 20mm wheels spacers in the front and rear to give it a agressive look but my rear tend to rub on bumps should i go i half inch front and 1inch rear ? Would equal the height i cant seem to find 3/4 in the uk please help and where did you buy your from thanks
@BILBO1 Жыл бұрын
Excellent! Thanks. I’m going to add a little height to my ‘14.
@TDRAuto5 жыл бұрын
You would need more then that. The rear wheel will shift forward so you’d need frame spacers. For more info check Primitive Racing, Subtle Solutions, or Anderson’s Design. These 3 US companies have it all figured out.

I wish you showed installing the fronts back in. I am stuck can't get the knuckle low enough

FYI the links for the spacers are not the ones on the videos. (just for making money) he used .5 inch spacer and .75 for the video.

What size tires can you fit after doing lift, what to do the same to mine.
@VityokChotkiy3 жыл бұрын
my 2012 is the same, looks to be sagging in the rear at least now i know its not messed as i bought it used haha
@tc826 жыл бұрын
I was thinking of just doing my car's rear because it's sagging too. Question...do you notice any difference in handling performance compared to stock. Thanks.
@TDRAuto6 жыл бұрын
tc82 I did notice slight increased body roll the first day. Nothing that would affect my driving habits though. Most people would probably not notice it at all, I used to participate in autocross and time attack events.

Hey great Vid! How satisfied are you with the size of spacers you got. looking to do the same exact thing on my 12 Impreza. But I was wondering if I should go 1.25 inches in the rear. thoughts?

You didn’t share a photo of the lift and if it leveled out the car.

I tried installing a spacer in the front but for some reason the tie rod won't go down any further preventing the strut to be install, i have both passenger and driver side jack up but it seem like the strut keep contacting the rubber boots of the tie rod
@TDRAuto6 жыл бұрын
Chee Lai Try moving the hub assembly or steering wheel a little. No need to remove any joints. Bring the bottom of strut down behind or forward of the axle to clear the top strut mount.
@CLC016 жыл бұрын
i tried moving it back and forth it doesn't seem the clear at all, and sorry i meant the CV joint, the axle is in the way when i trying to put the strut in, I can put the strut in and have the top 3 nut bolt on, but I just can't get the strut line up with the hub, and the axle just won't go down any further.

I have a 2011 impreza sedan. I am want to add AT tyres to the stock 16" wheels, the tyres are 205/60r-16. do you think that 1" front and 1/2 or 3/4" in the rear will do the trick or I have to go taller? what is the taller i can go without changing link kits or any other suspension part? thanks
@TDRAuto4 жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure, check out Primitive Racing, Subtle Solutions or Andersson Design. Impreza owners forums are a good way to see what other folks are running.

It's been 2 years since you made the video how did the lift kit hold up Are they worth it ??
@TDRAuto4 жыл бұрын
For me it was totally worth it, I traded it in for Forester though. Needed the extra space for my family and good for off-roading.

How do you adjust the rear camber? Did you need to use camber bolts?
@TDRAuto7 жыл бұрын
Chris H Actually the rear camber is not adjustable. The camber changed little bit when correcting the toe with the excentric bolt. If the camber would be out I'd have to get camber bolts.

So first time I drove it after the lift, I had a feeling it's not as stable in faster turns. But after 1-2 days I could not tell the difference anymore.

Your video is very educational, thanks for sharing it. I am looking into buying a 2013 Subaru Impreza just like the one in your video and lift it 2 more inches so I can drive on dirt roads and light off-roading. I just refuse to pay a higher price for a Crosstrek when I can get an Impreza for several thousands cheaper. They sell kits for $500.00. I would appreciate your feedback. Regards
@TDRAuto6 жыл бұрын
Rique Ward I'd contact one of the "big 3" first. Anderson Design, Subtle Solutions or Primitive Racing. You could do 1.5" spacers in rear with subframe spacers, 1.25" in front, And get smaller wheels with taller tires more suitable for offroad.
@MrRiquew6 жыл бұрын
TDR Auto thank you for your feedback. What you suggested sound like a great idea. Regards.
