Subaru Odometer Reaches The Million Mile Mark

It's here! The exciting conclusion on the journey to 1,000,000 miles on my Subaru Legacy odometer. Watch along as it reaches for 999,999 miles and beyond.

That was still a cool experiment! Back in the mid-90s my friend pulled the gauge cluster out of his wrecked '84 Mazda RX-7 and just lit the backlights for decoration in his room.

It was a lot of fun to do, that’s for sure. They’re fun to look at, too. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them next.

I have a 1986 F-150 in my yard with 504,000 miles on it, on the original engine, but it has so much blowby that I have to run it without an air filter lol. Or rather "had to run it without an air filter", before it became a lawn ornament.

Wow, that’s a lot of miles. I was really surprised that some Ford odometers capped out at 399,999 because I figured trucks like that would be expected to reach 400k and higher. At 504k, it’s earned its rest.
