Subaru is owned by Toyota (partially) Subaru should dump the Boxer engines and Lineartronic Transmission and use Toyota engine and if they insist on a CVT use the Aisen CVT with the starter gear. Subaru is disingenuous with their boxer engines, they don't use a Head gasket anymore but this silicone stuff that they pump like caulking. Yet if the head leaks they repair it with a proper head gasket. Why just not put them in from the start? Boxer engines have had gasket problems and oil consumption issues fro many years.

I find it interesting that Subarus, with the boxer engine and CVT transmissions, are almost perfect when there have been reliability issues with both the engine and transmission. These so called consumer reports are not genuine and are not to be taken seriously. However, I would love to have a RAV4 Prime if only I could afford one.
