Subaru Outback License Plate Light Replacement 2016 (any others)

Shows how to replace the license plate bulb / lamp on a 2016 Subaru Outback. Bulb # 168 for Wagner, Sylvania, Philips, and Hella.
Replacement should be the same/similar process for:

I had to replace my bulbs which were burned out….it turns out a battery drain will occur if these bulbs are both burned out. Makes so sense but the HVAC backlights no longer illuminate when the ignition is off.

I had the exact same issue. Except I only had one bulb burnt out. But when I turned my car off at night, the air conditioning red back lights would remain on. This. Solved that issue.
