Man, I REAAAAALY hate Regulus's character personality-wise. Won't say writing-wise yet cuz it's too soon to say that, but really, everything so far has only reinforced the feeling I got from him the first time we saw him back in S2: that he's a pedantic and pathetic, entitled mewling little man who can't tolerate the smallest of adversity in front of him. Emphasis on pathetic. So far he's the only Archbishop of Sin I really don't like. Yes, every one of them is evil and I understand the hate, but Betelgeuse at least was funny. I find Sirius too, in a morbid and nostalgic way. But Regulus, oof. His voice actor suits him to a tee. That's why I laughed when Sirius gives him the puppet hand treatment 😅

Second immature thing is that all his hatred for Subaru comes from his own insecurities and everytime he sees Subaru’s weak side it reminds himself of himself, that’s why he hates Subaru. People saying “why doesn’t Subaru Off himself” never paid attention to season 2. Did we forget the “unthinkable present” with all the failed timelines (2x11) or Subaru valuing his life? Or Satella saying, “People grieve when you die”??? (2x12) - Echidna also said that RBD works in Subaru’s favor, so if he survives a loop with a sacrifice, it can’t be reset. (2x9) So Subaru saving Lubel and the people and then passing out and surviving his leg injury, what do you think would happen to the checkpoint? 🤔 It would obviously change to when he woke up after all this has happened, just like how it changed to after Rem got erased from existence. Like this isn’t even some cut content, this was all from the show.

I am absolutely fuming at this episode as it cut out the explanation of WHY Beatrice is in a coma. Subaru's gate is busted and he can barely use Mana anymore - and the only way Beatrice can gain Mana is through her connection to Subaru. And they cut it all out to add a useless point of Otto meeting Lye. AH!

Subaru needs Beatrice to fight better and if she needs Mana the only thing missing is to give her Mana. "Why aren't people giving her Mana, what about a Boco Fruit, that could work, right?" is the sort of question that non-LN readers should ask themselves as things get HORRENDOUSLY worse. adding the "this is because Subaru overused his Gate enough to break it so that the Mana coming through it is limited, they need direct contact and usually when Subaru is relaxed or sleeping, Without that Beatrice is going to remain in a coma forever." gives an element of Blame to Subaru - which is part of the character dynamic for him in this arc, he blames himself for things that were largely outside of his control. Without that explanation, when/if they do add the blame aspect, it will sound irrational to the non-LN fans. I'll get it because I know whats missing. And the more irrational and nonsensical it sounds to non-LN fans, the quicker it will become a dead series. I assume you want to see Arc 6 and 7 fully animated right?

I’m 10 days late but the “she’s my waifu” is an actually an accurate translation. “ore no yome” is also Japanese internet slang when otaku talk about their virtual wife aka a waifu. The only example I can think of right now is from the anime “Danna ga Nani o iteiruno ga wakarimasen” when he points at the screen and shouts “Mashito tan wa ore no yome!” Which like, isn’t the best source but trust me bro, look it up.

Three thoughts. First at 10:03 you mentioned they were going to use their 3rd unique ability. Wait, where did you cover them? I heard you cover EMM and that was covered in the anime, but not the other two? You said the anime only cover one of the 3. Next, it is true "ore no yome" does literally mean my bride. However in English declaring someone your bride or wife _before_ the marriage does seem to be a bit jumping the gun. Given Subaru declared himself Emilia's knight before he actually was one, maybe the localization team felt they should use something less serious sounding. I don't agree with translating it that way (especially since waifu is a loan word so it should almost never be in the translation unless it is the Japanese), but I can see the logic. Third, I know Regulus tries to maintain a superficial politeness that doesn't make much sense. What if Subaru introduced himself and politely said "well, you can't really marry Emilia without her permission and also she's not single. She is my girlfriend, so you're going to have to wait until she's widowed?" Maybe Regulus would do the polite thing and... just kidding he's still going to kidnap Emilia. However I don't really see what he can say in response to that without looking hypocritical. What would he say? Or would he just take Emilia without replying? I can't imagine any possible reply that doesn't destroy the "facade of normalcy" that goes with his absurdity.

@@ATLASSbe3 no, I totally agree. But for me Re Zero doesn’t get that balance right. It’s far far too much failure. Every time I think Subaru has finally succeeded its yet some other failure. Most of the entire season is him dying or his companions dying. It’s the same scenes over and over with minor changes. It just causes me too much anxiety and I’m overly anxious the entire time, which isn’t pleasant. I prefer a more balanced approach but if I had to choose between most of the season being nothing but failure or most of the season being nothing but success, I choose nothing but success. I’m not trying to put down Re Zero in any way. I know many ppl love it and for good reason. It has a great story with great characters. It’s just stressful for me personally to enjoy. I watched the first two seasons and I just can’t do another one.

All of these are empires and there many factions. I live in American empire in a faction known as Georgia. Then there is Europe. And russia. And so on. As we are at war inside, so out. Been going on. Can't stop it. But we can choose not to fight. In our case defend eachother till we can be together. Then hide ourselves forever. With new lessons. Some of this is new to me. Different tech.

Dang... The anime did the epic scene dirty,just by hearing your explanation i can imagine how cool the scenes is but in the anime it's feels like subaru just using spell he proud of yappin how great it is and failed to even have any effect on regulus which is make him looks lame in that scene
