The U.K. only get 2 versions of the XV / Crosstrek. It would help sales with the added spec’s of Sport, Limited and the wilderness versions. Major downside is the new U.K. Crosstrek’s power down from a previous low rate of 156 BHP to a ridiculous 136 BHP where I see absolutely no point in it.

What a shame.. the engineering wizards created a wonderful platform.. then someone looked around and noticed that Suburu had run out of decent engines.. nothing left on the shelf but small, grossly underpowered petrol engines and only auto gearboxes, the combination ideal for mum and the school run sitting in a suburban traffic jam, A 0 to 60 time better checked with a calendar leaving it dangerously short of overtaking potential on country roads. A turbo-diesel and manual gearbox would have promoted this otherwise excellent piece of kit to Stardom.

Its performance has been a success, mainly, in my case, for towing a caravan (Hobby De Luxe Easy 400SF). The XV and the Hobby is a perfect team to tour Chile, Brazil and Argentina. @alexandrebyte I'm not so lazy or incompetent that I consider moving a clutch pedal "work" Also, the manual can tow 1600kg, the CVT can only do 680kg. It's a hopeless piece of s**t.
