I had the Subaru instructions for Fog light install. Which does not show the side panel removal. Thank you! Big help today.

I came with another problem, but thank you very much for showing how to remove that panel! 😊

This procedure also worked for me as I have the traction control switch to the left of the automatic engine shut-off switch (car turns off at light). I always turn the auto-stop switch off so the car doesn't turn off at the light. BUT I hated that the switch was in the 2nd position - I wanted it on the end left. This procedure worked perfectly to get to the switches and move then. I did use a very little oil on the side of the switch housing to get the switches to lock in. Done = 10 minutes.

How did you figure out the new wiring for the button? Any “color matching” tips? New to this wiring-lol

Nice job. You can put black silicone around the light wires and into the Krinkle tube to make it look finished.

I'm wanting to add stuff like that to my Crosstrek, but don't want the interior wiring to look like shit. Thanks for the video :)

Looks like the link is bad or, the sellers is no longer on Etsy. Did you happen to get any other correspondence from him via email back when you bought this?

Doing this to my crosstrek this week Im so glad you made this video. Yours looks good with the 4 hellas up front! How did you wire the 5 wire switch into the 3 wire from the hella light harness?

Ok, I don't feel bad now since you are just doing your switch. :) Looks pretty cool and I might have to order it up. I have been so lazy about doing this. Thanks for the vid brother!
@mikeodonnell54765 жыл бұрын
You should definitely order one, it works great, and looks awesome! It only took me like 4 months to do my switch 😂

@@mikeodonnell5476 Ha ha. I am getting close to that long as well. Ordered one up. Perfect for what we need. Thanks again for the video on it.

Mike, after watching your video I installed the same switch you used on my Subaru to light up a light-bar. What is puzzling me is that I can turn on or off the light bar with the switch, but the switch itself always remains lit. This does not sound right to me as it can drain the battery. When you installed the switch did the LED light on the switch remained on? Thanks.

Really nice and clean set up. Had a question about the lights and distance between the bumper. Do you know what the distance is from the center bolt holes and the bumper. I am thinking on trying this kind of set up, but I have different lights. Just wondering how much space you are playing with. Thanks.

Thanks so much!!! Off topic: What bar is that you have on the front? Is it available for a '16 Crosstrek?
@mikeodonnell54762 жыл бұрын
The light bar is made by ssd performance and yes they have one that’ll fit a 2016.

How's the switch holding up, I'm getting ready to add (2) sets of Hella lights and want to add (2) switches one for fog and the other for driving... really light the cleanness of the switch.,
@mikeodonnell54765 жыл бұрын
It’s holding up great, but I don’t use the lights much. I do really like the switch though, easy install and it looks almost factory.

How did you actually wire it up? I have a similar set up with my light bar and want a cleaner button look from smk

Can I ask where you breached the firewall? I’m planning to order this same switch to run some ditch lights. I’m just not sure where to pass from engine compartment into cabin. Thanks!

I went through the door area, in the corner of the hood there’s a foam block you can take out and then run them through the door(there’s a rubber grommet that already has wires going through). I think it shows it in one of my videos. Let me find it.

Which wires did you end up connecting to the switch? I see that there are 4 wires coming from the SMK switch but only 3 from the Standard switch.
@mikeodonnell54765 жыл бұрын
I don’t remember off the top of my head but I know one you don’t use. There’s a diagram that comes with the switch.
