People if you're griping about the fuel economy of this car chances are you're on the wrong channel. None of the cars reviewed on this channel get good fuel economy and quite frankly we don't care. Stick to your Prius's.

It's expensive. It wouldn't fit in my driveway. Gas mileage is awful. Insurance would probably be a fortune. I really don't have anything to haul around. Climbing in and out would be torture on my sciatica. Yeah. I want one.

+benoit230 I'm old now. I've had a lot of vehicles in my life with all sorts of attributes. My personal vehicle now is a 2012 Fiat Abarth. I drive it less than 200 miles a month. My wife drives a Cadillac SRX. I've owned everything from a 1957 Triumph station wagon to a 6.0 Liter GTO and everything in between. Unless I develop some sort of mental defect, I can assure you there is no way I'd ever drop $50k on a pickup truck, though.

I got a 2013 5.3 and I drive it like it's a camaro lol. I rip it through back roads, off road, highway, wherever I can. It's very enjoyable. I've driven trucks since I was a teen, I'm 31 now and this is the 1st truck I've owned. I always had performance cars or a daily driven race car. Now I wish I had a race car to tow with my truck. But I got a motorcycle for those times I get bored and need to rip through gears on a back road. Great review. It does seem like they watered it down a little since mine. I had a 2014 5.3 for a rental when I did a round trip from nj to south fl. I loved that truck so much I traded my 2014 mustang for one a year later.

Very repetitive in your video. I'd like to see you talk about the specs about the vehicle (payload, towing capacity, engine specs at the beginning of the video, etc) maybe talk about the speaker system and play a song. I'd kill to drive this truck but if your not really interested in them then don't review them. I personally hate small vehicles and being low to the ground unless it has a lot of utility involved or it's a speed demon. You should definitely review some crossover suv's like the Subaru Forester or outback... I think you'd enjoy those more.

The reviewer seemed ill at ease reviewing this truck. They probably should have had someone else do the review and his knowledge of these trucks seem marginal, at times. I've owned many BMW SUV's before I went back to buying American and am completely satisfied with the Silverado 5.3 v8. The BMW X5 v8 was fast but passed everything on the road but a gas station. I like this new Silverado better and it's more versatile and cost considerably less. It completely satisfies me in ways the X-5 could never do. I always dealer service and properly maintain my vehicles and if I have good luck with this truck, I'll probably stay with GM. They have come a long way.

There sure is a lot of folks out there reviewing vehicles now, frankly I have two problems with this one. One, you're clearly not a truck guy. That's cool and all, but it probably isn't in your best interest or your viewers for that matter for you to review things that you don't have much experience in and haven't used for it's purpose or potential. Pickups are for payload, towing, and usually work, although a higher trim level like this won't likely have the muddy boots in and out of it every day. Two, this hardly seems like a 'review' at all. Your first line in the video description lists a salesperson's phone number, and you don't say a negative thing in the entire video. You say it's got good performance, but how do you really know having presumably not spent a lot of time in pickups, towing and such? You speak highly of the interior features, without any mention to similar trims offered by competitors. You did it because you've been sponsored to make the video, and that's just not a good review. I get it that you do what you have to do to get your hands on stuff like this to review, but it defeats the purpose if it means you're basically going to make a commercial instead of an honest review. That's my two cents. Aside from that your video quality is great and I'm sure you make good content related to the things that interest you more. Sadly I wouldn't know as performance cars aren't really my thing.

+bikephil I disagree. He really doesn't say it that much and I have been watching him a very long time. I can't tell if some of you are just messing around, or you're really this critical of people. Just know that if no one likes you, and you have no friends, you probably have a problem, and if you think this is funny, it's really not. After the twentieth time telling the same joke it's just annoying. The "everyone's a critic" phenomenon/meme is really tired and old at this point.

IMHO you need the 6.2 L w/ 420 hp/460 tq especially if you're going with the LTZ or HC. The gas penalty is 1/2 MPG and you're picking up a LOT more power, mainly torque. Just in real world numbers you're looking at 0-60 in 5.6 seconds vs almost 7 with the 5.3. And I realize "this isn't a race car" but that power is commensurate for more than acceleration, the extra power is very handy when towing, hauling, or traveling through the mountains for example. Also from what I've read (haven't driven one), the 5.3 L and transmission tune are aimed so much at MPG (thanks CAFE standards) that you really need to come close to 75-90% throttle to get this beast moving at all. I hope you get a chance to do a Denali or another HC/LTZ with the 6.2. That thing is borderline fast from a dig which is fun in a massive truck

I wish we got these big American trucks in Australia, we have crapy 4cyl diesel trucks made in Thailand.

It's funny because my father has a 15' sierra that I drive and being from Maine there's more trucks than cars up here. It's comical to see a performance enthusiast like Matt review a truck just because he's completely new to the scene, and he's right, you get used to the vehicle size.

If you feel something about a truck is special, and you feel it deserves a review, then do it. If you don't feel a truck is worth the review then pass it up.

Really great looking truck. Although I don't like the rims on it. Still, even though high country isn't my forte, it's a damn nice looking truck.

Did they ever fix the problem with the gas tank? I know several hundred people have died driving these after a side impact gas tank explosion.
