@@karimtemri1664 older chevys the 2008 and back are frankly wonderful. I'm in the US where they are really common. I have a 05 avalanche, 250k miles just the major maintenance rear and front differential are original need to be rebuilt soon. Family has a 02 that 240k miles still perfect, any pre 2008 ish Ford chevy dodge truck is pretty sound mechanical. But I'll hand the badge to chevy engine wise with the 5.7 5.3 4.8 v8's and the 4.3 v6. Fords 5.0 v8 and 4.0 and 3.0 v6 the most reliable Ford is the 300 inline 6 though and the 7.3 v8 powerstroke. Dodge the 318 v8 and 360 magnum before the second gen hemi are also solid.

These trucks may well be absolutely useless over here - while also looking utterly ridiculous: but in their natural environment in the good aul US of A, they make perfect sense, and I think this thing looks absolutely fantastic!! I own a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado, standard cab, 5.7 V8, and 4 speed automatic with around 235k miles on it. It looks like a toy truck when parked alongside a Silverado like the one being reviewed, but it runs like a top, is easy to park, hauls and pulls everything I need to haul and pull, is easy to work on, and easily fits in one bay of my two car garage. Oh, and I paid $2500 cash for it in 2008 and haven't spent any money on it since then except for routine replacement items, like tires, battery, wipers, fuel filter, etc, all of which I changed out myself. I think I'll keep it.

So what the figures actually say is on average Americans are fatter than Mexicans and Brits. The rate of morbid obesity (ie not just "fat", but "American fat") is also twice as high in the US than Mexico or the UK for women, and three times as high for men: ncdrisc.org/morbid-obesity-population-bubble.html So yeah you're full of shit.

Silverado has always been the well rounded truck. The reliability is not yet as good as Tundra but better than Ford and Ram. The tow load is in the top tier but not as good as the Ford. They are not tuned for rough environment like the F150 and manual rear locker but is more tuned for everyday driving, casual towing, and casual off road.

I used to work at a Ford dealer in a fairly large area and we could move 15+ a day multiple times a week. It's wild how they sell.

I’m pretty sure the reason most pickups are still using leaf springs is because they handle heavy payloads better as well as trailer squat.

When it comes to trucks, HP means a whole lot less than Torque. The 3.0 inline 6 turbo diesel is actually a top engine choice for the silverado (the same way it is in the ram and f150) as it delivers massive torque (460ft-lbs, same as the 6.2 V8) with great fuel economy. Also the reason why the 5.3 V8 is the volume engine is that sweet naturally aspirated 383ft-lbs of torque. Also the 6.2 makes 420hp, not 460. Also for the Europeans who don't know much about trucks (understandably since you don't really have them there), the leafsprings are a good thing since it enables you to carry more weight, safer. The ram 1500 (and 2500 for that matter) don't do as well with a heavy payload since the coils don't hold up as well. Other important truck things are solid rear axles for the same reason as leafs, tires and wheels are heavier duty since they are also built to handle more weight, the interior plastics in most trucks (excluding the highest end luxury trucks) are to help with durability over the working life of the vehicle, and large naturally aspirated gas/petrol engines are very popular over small turbos due to the reliability. Ford's ecoboost f150's are proof turbo gas engines and towing don't mix. (diesels are fine though because of how overbuilt they are obviously). One last note is as you move into HD trucks, you will find trucks with curb weights in excess of 4 tons, so they get very large very quickly. But then again those trucks can tow upwards of 17 tons so teaches own

2 small Apputure lights mounted in the interior would do wonders for the picture quality during sunset. Lots of your interior shots in this, but also in other videos are pretty grainy...

The reason for the ladder frame and leaf springs is for towing, which is the number one purpose for a full size truck. There is a reason why even Mercedes still uses leaf springs on their Sprinter Vans and VW/Toyota/Nissan/Etc. for their mid-size trucks, it's the best suspension for the job.
