I just bought a brand new 2015 Evo MR about a month ago. Best decision ever. I was looking at Final Editions and they are marked up anywhere from $5000-$10000 which is crazy. The used market for GSRs are crazy with a 2014 GSR with 20k miles going for 30k-33k and a new MR going for about 34k-38k. Brings a smile to my face every time and I just hit 1300 miles.

You think Mitsubishi is done? In the car world maybe, in the rest of the world, not even close. Mitsubishi Group had a 2015 Revenue of over $500 Billion that's more than VW Group and Ford Motor Company Combined. Yeah they're pulling back from the auto industry but everyone knows the money is in the Military Industrial Complex, and the U.S Marines are looking to purchase Amphibious vehicles from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. I don't even have a Mitsubishi. Class Dismiss.
@Beer_Dad19757 жыл бұрын
Mitsubishi motors is a independent subsidiary though, it has nothing to do with the parent company other than from time to time they have had to inject more cash into them to keep them going. Mitsubishi Motors is I think, doing OK now though, because they are now concentrating on pumping out rubbish cars at cheap prices for people who don't care.

blackops2isreallybad 2008 MR (first year) very good car I sold it early because I was scared of the gearbox but the SST is actually really durable. Then a GSR great car, better center stack storage being a base model! The. The FE it's the best blend for sure. I miss recaro seats but the FE seats aren't bad seats, just not as sporty as what the car can do. The AWD system is still the most advanced you can get today. If you like handling this is the car. Turn in feel is what a drivers car is about and this can't be beat unless you spend major $$
@petermach25812 жыл бұрын
I've driven a lot of high end cars Ferrari, AMG, BMW, GTR. I even own a AMG. Nothing handles like the Evo X does. My 2008 MR SST still kicking no issue. You just need to change the trans oil more regular than the manual suggest. Every 20k
@ljessecusterl7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. You have to experience an EVO to "get it." It's a very different experience from driving a WRX/STI. It's so raw and the X seems to bend the laws of physics in a different way from the VIII/IX. Just hoping my brother can get his oiling problem figured out so he can take advantage of the MAP turbo and O2 dump pipe/straight pipe exhaust he's got fitted to his '08. Then he can actually beat my dad's cammed/bolt-on IX.

The saddest departure other than the Evo itself is the vaunted Mitsubishi S-AWC system. That is the "Secret sauce" of the Evo's handling and remains the most advanced on-road performance AWD system ever conceived by man; true helical mechanical slip diffs at the front & center along with the clutch-actuated AYC torque vectoring rear-diff that makes the GKN Twinster on the Focus RS, Torsen of the Impreza STI and even the ATTESA-ETS of the GT-R look mundane in comparison.

I owned a 2006 EVO IX GSR and an 2015 EVO X MR. The X MR kind of disappointed me. The IX did not disappoint at all. I thought the interiors were okay. Matthew Stephan I was looking at early Evo X's (08-10) as Evo 8/9s are much more expensive than Xs in Canada. I ended up going with a JDM Evo 4 and buying a daily. The driving experience on the 4-9 is incredible. I never think about the interior whilst my Recaros hold me in through every corner.
@floridamaddogg7 жыл бұрын
FerpiliciousProducts very nice! You won't be disappointed. The recaros in those are awesome! I kept my Evo X MR stock, but I highly modified my EVO IX. All my work was professionally done. I was pretty much maxed out on a stock turbo (27 psi boost). I traded it in before upgrading the turbo. Enjoy your Evo! I've owned about 15 cars over the past 14 years and I still think about my EVO IX all the time.
@floridamaddogg7 жыл бұрын
Machine I agree with you. Getting rid of the recaros was a huge buzz kill. I became okay with it because as I keep getting older, I was fine with the normal seats. Enjoy your Evo. I wish I had gone FE over the MR. If I did, I'd probably still have it. Now I just stare at my Challenger, lol.

Matthew Stephan I've had the car for about two years now. Been fairly reliable and I make 330whp. Definitely at the limits for pump gas though so a younger engine and a new stock frame turbo are future plans. Great cars and the 4G63 is so easy to work with. I used to be a mechanic by trade before going to University and I have done all the mods and tuning myself. A great hobby car.

The FE was a huge disappointment overall. Everything is basically the same besides the red stitching, badges, basic seats, wheel finish and blacked out roof. I know it was a limited edition but they couldn't have bothered making it with a more aggressive face-lift, more power, premium surround or leather options, etc... the prices are horrible, lol. I would recommend just getting a 13-14 model with all the options, get more out of your money.

subaruwrxfan the turn in and handling of the Evolution is much better than the STi. The STi will understeer as where the Evolution will oversteer quite easily
@Rendezvous8427 жыл бұрын
Kazak Thranduil With the previous generation STi, yes there is significant understeering especially during sharp cornering and the Evo is flat except for a bit of corner body roll. For MY 15+, the cornering is terrific because it's definitely neutral and has nearly no body roll. The steering of the Evo however still retains the tactile sense of the road whereas the STi has a split second vagueness but the STi's grip levels more than makes up for that. I have learned however that there is a technique to make up for this by briefly lessening throttle upon entry. The sensation of lightness in the corners of the Evo however is still more obvious because of the excellent steering. That said, the Evo and the MY15+ STi's are excellent on the corners.

Rendezvous842 the Subaru steering has always been behind Mitsubishi. I have had both STi and Evolution models from 2005 to 2015. Three Evolutions and two STi over the years. Evolution is the drivers car for sure but the Subaru has its own merits. The engine in the Subaru is the largest downside for sure.

I could've bought an Evo X last month, but I ended up getting an FR-S. I test drove and saw 3 Evo's, but damn, the money the people were asking for plus insurance was killing me slowly. Hopefully, once after I play off the FR-S in 2 years, I'll get the Evo I've always wanted. If I only had the money, sigh.

flintlights the reason why I didn't get the evo is because of insurance premiums I would be paying! it would be as much as another car payment lol

I think the USB that is missing is in the glovebox. There should be a little flip tab for it.

Performance on the Evo is awesome the interior not so much. I used to like Mitsubishi, Nissan, Acura, and Toyota, but killing off their best models also bland and dated styling is the reason why I switched over to the Europeans. As far as the FE I would much rather get a Golf R it has a way better interior and the performance to go along with it. My personal opinion pure Japanese performance cars are yesterday's news.

One of the guys from Everyday Driver said about the Evo during his review when describing the grip, "It's like the tires are kneading the road!" :D

Why would they kill off an iconic car? It makes no sense. Why didn't they update the interior to make it current and leave the shape the same? I don't really understand why they would put an end to something that people love and want.

Unlike Chevrolet, which quietly put down it's SS, Mitsubishi's Lancer Evolution went out in a blaze of glory, so did Holden, with it's Australian-made VFII Commodore.

The 11th evolution was a Hybrid, and that is on other cars already. No major modification are made to it, and the cost of the car. The lancer is still around.

Planning on getting a 2015 Evo FE, I test drove one today, 3rd gear was tough to put in, get like it had a safety or guide to protect from the money shift. I heard it could be bad synchros in the tranny. Anybody have any input?

Found a 2015 evo final edition in blue on carvana for 33k with only 59k miles. After selling my 94 corvette lt1 i miss having a fun car and always loved the stlying of all the lancers of this generation but def the evo. The clutch wouldnt bother me since the vette was the same. Looking for commuter cars since my new 4runner sucks on gas lol now i seen i can get a sad Mitsubishi mirage for cheap, styling is nice on the g4 but only 78hp...plus having a final edition would be a great badge to carry. Oh and the usb is in the glovebox if equipped, at least what i read.

I wish Mitsu had atleast continued the Ralliart by offering the GSR's manual transmission instead of cancelling it along with the Evo.
