I've daily driven an Evo X for 2 years and have absolutely no problem with the ride or the comfort of the car. Recaro seats are one of the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. As for gas mileage, I get 21-22 in the city consistently and i've gotten 26 on the highway, yes if you drive it hard you'll get 10mpg but normal driving it's a lot better than what is said in this review. Yes the suspension is stiff but it's a damn racecar, that's how it's supposed to be. You don't buy an Evo for luxury, you buy it for the experience and to have fun.

People bitch and cry so much about evos not being as nice as a lot of cars and so outdated. But you're right. The Evo is a raw powered rally car. It's not gonna have all the bells and whistles like an sti, because features don't matter in an Evo, Mitsubishi includes things that you can use not spoil you. If you wanna drive in style buy a bmw, but the Evo has always been an iconic race car through the line up. It's a simply modernized driven sports sedan. My only gripe is the recaros and the car not coming in black, but otherwise those are little things that can be done to the car, after all you don't drive an Evo stock haha

This is the most realistic review I’ve seen. 😂😂. As an evo owner I’ve gone through 2 sets of tires, on my third right now. , 1 clutch and just general maintenance. I’m just 30k miles.. no track use. Just regular street partially highway driving.

Very creative and fun review. I think all the points made are actually quite valid meaning this cuts to core of what this car is. The thing is about the cons are that these things don't matter to the die-hard EVO crowd as it defines the unique personality which this car singularly carved out in it's price point. I enjoyed this very much. With the return of the EVO being likely (yet no real date as far as I know) the next version has a great "final" launch pad from which to spring forth.

Scooby fan with a '15 STI Launch Edition, and I'm even sad to see the Evo go. These cars were brilliant. That said, the Focus RS around the corner is shaping up to be the new king of the hill. Still keeping the Scoob 'cause it fits like a glove, but it's still a good time to be a AWD turbo pocket rocket fan with plenty of good options around.

What many of these reviews leave out is modding. You don't buy an evo to keep it stock and it takes very little money in mods to make this car insanely fast. Basic go fast mod is injectors, fuel pump and e85 tune and you are spanking M3's. On the track this car is unbeatable unless you are up against a REALLY good driver.. Average driver in Evo vs Average driver in Vette, mustang, Porsche, etc Evo spanks them. I have kept pace at track days with cars that were purpose built, towed to the track running slicks. And the few people that post better times than me aren't as much faster than they should be for what they are driving. The car is just a monster on the track. It makes average drivers feel like kings, it make better than average drivers feel like GODS. Disagree? Let's go to a track day.

What I would like to know is, does the extra 12 hp and 5 ft lbs of torque make a difference in 0-60. Motor trend has the regular GSR 0-60 at 4.3 seconds.

The Golf R's in reviews get beat by STI's. The Golf R is a front wheel drive bias system. I did hear from owners of Gold R's say it's possible to slide the car, excuse me because as a driver I dislike using the word "Drift" because sliding is the slowest way around a circuit. I agree with this Evo driver that stock for stock the Golf R is not as good as an Evo. Not saying the Golf R isn't a great car in it's own right, there's a ton of great car's and respect is given where it's due. I don't own either car even though I'd love to own an Evo just with me being part of Rally America I tend to stay with Subaru. I really wish Mitsubishi would have kept the Evo around just to see how much better they could have made the car. The Evo X is pretty old and still beating most car's in handling that are just now coning out, it's impressive unfortunately Mitsubishi lost money on each Evo sold.

As a long time evo fan I am sad to see this car go. Honestly if comparing it to the STI, mitsubishi could have just made incremental improvements on the car and it would still be very competitive today. Sad to see them give up on the one car left that gave them a good name. On the plus side at least we now have the Focus RS to look forward too.

I got final edition #406. Traded in my 14 MR. Recaro seats bye bye. Hurt my legs to sit in em. Suspension in the FE is way better. More power and a stick shift. Bigger brakes, ground effects. The only thing i miss is the bbs rims.

Road noise in this car is mostly beacuase of its super short gear ratios. all they had too do to fix that problem was too put a better refined gearbox on it.but they just decided to close the whole production line instead

Hyundai Sonata 2L, 250HP, with better gas mileage??? You don't buy a car like this and think about the MPG's lol. Don't buy Korean junk. Its a final edition, hint, collectable heaven. I bet over half of these are never going to be on the road and sitting in a garage collection. I daily drive mine for now. Bought my diamond white FE with 29K miles and its now 59K almost 4 years in. Zero problems as far as mechanics. Don't abuse it and it is great. It is a shame Mitsubishi is not going any further. I love my Evo.

Truth is the Evo is perfect in every way. I'd love an fe edition, but personally if I were to buy an Evo it would be a 2014 model. Although the fe is newer. I don't see the point in purchasing a 37,000 dollar final edition trim that's slightly downgraded from the previous models in terms of colors, and seats. Mr brakes don't matter much unless you intend to keep it stock (which 1% of Evo owners do). Those can be upgraded, at the end of the day a stock fe, gsr, or mr is still capable of dusting your typical tuner, running up the spaghetti junction at 80 mph, pulling your ass to the seat after 4000 rpms, leaving the gtr next to you at a red light, playing your music wirelessly, PLENTY of aftermarket, and hearing that turbo spool as you smile in joy while scaring the person next to you. The Evo x is literally a steal for its price. You gotta understand when you buy an Evo x, you're not buying it for looks and features, but for a mind blowing experience that only gets better.
