Are you picking up a copy of Subastral? Did you play the previous title, Stellar?

I liked Stellar quite a bit. Found it in the library and will probably get it out again at some point. It was a bit too samey from game to game even though I tried different strategies. This also seems lighter than my typical go-to filler games, but I love the art work and the way the scoring works at the end. I hope that my library picks up a copy of this as well. Great video! It was very clear to follow with the animations

Really tempted. Stellar was just the right weight, and I'm a little concerned it's a tad too light and similar. But I did love Stellar, so I'll probably end up asking for it for my Birthday. Thanks for the overview!

I happened upon Zee Garcia's video and thought... "this looks... familiar"... sure enough, it's the same folks as Stellar! "So there MUST be an AYCB video for it," I thought. We picked up Stellar about a month ago based on your video for 2 players, and... other than I rarely win, my partner and I quite enjoy it. So thanks. I think. ;-) This definitely looks like the successor.... and wow, I didn't pick up in Zee's video, but having to choose the order of the biomes, that's gonna make it tough. Thanks!

Excellent tutorial! There's a lot of nuance here for folks who aren't well versed in the sort of thinky card game that spills out of the brains of Riddle and Pinchback, and you did a wonderful job talking through how they impact your strategy.

Thanks Dylann, for your very clear explanation and I love your channel. Subastral really speaks to me - seems to have been invented with me in mind:). I stumbled across these designers just recently - will be buying Subastral this Christmas and hope I enjoy it as much as I expect. Aesthetics look wonderful too! I haven't played Stellar either and am toying with buying both - my gut says Subastral is better - is it worth owning both?

I actually prefer Stellar! But I think both are great games and different enough that you could own both and play both still.

So, for me, this is what happened: I read the title and then I thought “Astral? As in astral space? But then how is it ‘sub’ the astral plane? The ethereal plane? Material?” And I was VERY curious. Then: biomes, skies, trees. I’m a little confused, still waiting for something astral to show up, then I realized my mistake and was sorely disappointed 🤣 I will NEVER play this game 😂
