In December i have irregular periods and got tested for thyroid My tsh level was 8.5 and started thyroxine 12.5 mg and after losing 8 kg weight and eating healthy I stopped medicine and got tested after 20 days my tsh level is 3.4 My age is 17 It is hypothyroidism or not ?

TSH 14.5 is not subclinical. You need T3 and T4 levels too. Hope you are medicines regularly. If in spite if that then need to increase dose Elderly persons to increase low slowly

Sir, my mother(age48) is having hypothyroidism (no symptoms, only slight anterior swelling)with anti TPO positive.It was checked 1.5 yr back of which TSH was 7.42. she is having thyroxine tablet 50mcg daily. We are checking TSH regularly. it was 4.5, 2.5 and 2.4 and yesterday we checked it again and a sudden drop to 0.49 was observed...is anything to worry? Is there any need to decrease dosage of current tablet?. We have done two USG thyroid with 1 year gap. There was no micro calcification or lymphatic infiltration only 2-3 sub cm micronodules .what should I do now? I am little bit worried

Sudden drop in TSH possible due to autoimmunity.kindly consult your doctor for dose adjustment
