The line that they cut goes from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder, both of which you will use from your wrx so you don't have to worry about it. Just unbolt it from the trans and keep it as a spare.

Good shit man! Coming along nicely, and surprisingly seems you've not blown the bank on this upgrade. Making me consider swapping my Bugeye trans sooner now hah

How do u put axle studs in to accommodate female axles... Do 5 so stub axles fit
@SubieRumble8 жыл бұрын
+Jared Tate You'll need two axle stubs, two circlips & two oil seals (left & right). If you call a Subaru dealership, they can help you out. There's part numbers for reference on some forums with a little searching through google
@oldfashionedwrx35748 жыл бұрын
Subie Rumble Do you know if the 5 speed axle stubs are the same as any other axle studs
@SubieRumble8 жыл бұрын
+Jared Tate the axle stubs themselves should be the same. However some use different clips to keep them in. You'll need to research how to remove the stubs on whichever year you have

Subie Rumble I'll pull my 5 speed apart, it's broken and want to see how it goes to together, worthless paper weight now. Stripped 1st gear, lol stock power/tq in a light gc8 chassis. I can always change the INNER CV joint of my front axle to a male.

You mentioned fluids at the end of your video, look into Motul Gear 300! Its fantastic, check out Nasioc and do a little more reading on it, but tons of people swear by it. The only downside is its somewhat expensive as far as gear oil goes.

So I've been looking for v7 transmissions and I can't get them for that cheap anymore. Do they still pop up? Or could you tell me what JDM importer you used?
@thomasterry90478 жыл бұрын
ebay is like 2500 or so but like a hole kit is where the price gets way high but im having the same problem
@SubieRumble8 жыл бұрын
Yeah prices vary. I definitely lucked out. You can setup an eBay search so eBay emails you anytime a new sti 6 speed is listed. That's what I did.

Hey man, appreciate the videos as I'll be doing this swap in the near future. Could I ask what you paid for the transmission? Or what your total cost is thus far? Thanks! I'll be looking forward to the rest of the series.
@SubieRumble8 жыл бұрын
+Gabriel Scott I paid $1900 shipped from a JDM importer on eBay. So far I'm at around $2400. I think with fluids I'll be just below $2500 which was my budget. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
