What size would you recommend in a 18x9.5 rim with factory suspension? I don’t want to lower it rather fill in the fender gaps a bit.

So I had a steal of a deal on some Toyo Proxes 4 Plus. They're 245/45/18. I put them on my stock wheels and they ride really good, no rubbing. And, I feel like they fill the wheel well more. No one really talks about running 45 walls on STI, not sure why. Eventually, I want to lower, and go for a wider tire. 265/35/18 seems like a perfect setup.

Remember adding positive caster will cause the wheel to gain negative camber as the suspension compresses. Can run less camber, with the overall same handing and suspension characteristics and not go through tires as fast.

Hey Subispeed 👋 super late to the video but I’m a recent WRX owner and have been following your videos and shopping online. At the end of the video you gave a recommendation of tire size for 9.5 width wheels with for lowering springs and then for Coilovers. I was wondering what you’re recommendation for tire size on stock suspension using 18x9.5 wheels is? Or if you didn’t recommend using 9.5 width wheels on stock suspension all together?

I have the 2020 Subaru WRX STI, Series White. Which comes with the 19 x 8.5 wheels and the 245/ 35 tires. I wanted a wider look and was looking into a wider set up of tires without rolling fenders. Question: what do you recommend for tire size if I want to keep my stock wheels? Do you also recommend using spacers?

What is the inset and outset clearances from a stock sti wheel and tire? From what I gather from the video, 17-20 mm outset clearance stock based on both your spacer (20mm) and your recommended offset of +38 on a new wheel set. The only inference I can make on inset is there isn't much of it, is there at least 8mm? Around 30mm total play? Trying to do the mental gymnastics to find various solutions that would fit my desired effect. No mod, no rub, flush, etc. And having the safe space on each side helps a lot ;)

i have a 18x9 +35 offset and i'm considering running a 265/35 tire. In your experience, will that clear? I am currently on stock height but intend to install coils or springs in the near future. According to willtheyfit.com it appears my intended set up would allow for more room than your recommended 18x9.5 +38 with 255/35. Thanks for your help.

I am sold on getting 18x9.5 ET+38 with 255/35/18 firehawk tires. But a tire shop said I would rub because the stock suspension is too soft. If i get this fitment will i need to have any fender, or suspension work done for it not to rub? I know you said it a million times already that it is ideal. But if it is questionable i may just go with 18x8.5 ET33 245/40/18 i also wouldnt mind the meatier tire to fill in the wheel gap with stock suspenion.

Would the Enkei TS10's 18x8.5 +35 sit nearly flush with the fenders? I'm looking at the 18x9.5 but running the stock 245/40/18 Dunlops will stretch a lot won't it?

The 8.5 will sit right inside the fender line, pretty good fitment, but won't be perfectly flush. We do see a lot of people running the OEM tire size on 9.5 though, the tire is stretched but not to the point we would deem unsafe.

You will want to stick to an 18 for performance. Any 10 inch wide wheel with a 35 offset will require fender work to fit as well. :(
