As an incoming freshman before, I was curious regarding what my subjects will be. This is why I made this video. The video is for all the students who are interested in taking up computer science in college. If you have any more questions, just comment down below and i'll be happy to answer it 😊. Keep in mind that the subjects mentioned are based on UP Mindanao's curriculum and what I have taken up. I don't know the subjects in other schools. It may be the same or different.

Ate sa math subjects po paano kapag hindi mo na masyado tanda yung lessons sa HS lalo na ngayong nag online classes, masyado po bang mahihirapan or mauulit naman po sya but harder than it was in high school? I'm actually motivated when you said that you don't need to have a background knowledge abt programming since they will teach you the basics. Since grade 8, we learned the basics of html and visual basic and in grade 10, I learned the basics of c language. And I'm also current ICT comp prog student in shs. I can vouch for that. I came into Computer Science with barely any knowledge. Just remember that SELF STUDYING is KEY. Pag hindi ka nag practice, you'd forget what you learned in school. Especially code. All the terms, syntaxes, all of that needs practice. Parang bakal. Kakalawang talaga skill set mo 😂

I recently got accepted to UP Cebu for Com Sci, and this vid highkey helped ease my anxiety about /really/ going into Com Sci and all the programming and math that go with it. Computer science focuses more on algorithms and software while computer engineering focuses on hardware. If you're interested in software engineering, I think you should take computer science :)

Currently having trouble with which course should I take in college. I've always wanted to be a nurse since I was in junior high school and now I'm about to enroll in college but I just can't I have so many questions about my choice because I'm not so good with science but I'm above average in math. But I do not know about computer science, programming, coding, or something like that that's why I'm still considering my path to nursing. I overthink too much, I always doubt myself since I'm not really a motivated student. I decided to go for Computer science for now since it involves math but I'm still thinking of taking nursing. Yung skills ko nag aalign sa computer science pero yung puso ko nasa nursing. I'm still thinking if my choice will be a good one in the future and there's always a doubt in me that maybe I should take nursing since that's what I want, but you know what? I'm interested in computers and maths and stuff like that so maybe I'll be hooked on computer science as I try to understand it. Damn, being undecided up until now is so asfnksakdfsandasjkdan napapasana ol na lang ako sa mga kaibigan ko na may gusto nang kunin na kurso. Actually, at first medyo nahirapan ako sa mac kapag C/C++ before pero during quarantine basta may student email ka, lahat ng software for all programming languages pwede ma-install sa mac for free sa jetbrains.com 😊. So very okay na ako sa mac mag-code noong na-discover ko na yun 😊

If you want to get in UP, just try. A lot of people don’t get into the university that they want, not because they failed the exam, but because they didn’t try. Also, review your past lessons in high school and elementary 😊. I really encourage people to take the exam. I know it’s nerve-wracking because I was nervous when I took the UPCAT. I wanted to pass but whatever the result would be during that time, I just didn’t want to regret not taking the UPCAT for the rest of my life. It’s the same for all the opportunities in life. I am also want to be a software engineer someday. So my question po is, what is better po to choose and mas madaming job opportunities, is it BS Computer Science or BS Computer Engineering? Hello and congrats for passing also :) Actually, computer science and computer engineers work hand-in-hand. Computer science focuses more on algorithms and software while computer engineering focuses on hardware. If you're interested in software engineering, I think you should take computer science :)

Ate bea, can u share po about how, why, and what makes u choose CS? basically ur experience po about deciding to take CS kasi po I don't have any interest in any academic sub. then suddenly I found myself enjoying editing, doing deep research, hacking, kind of enjoying math but had a very hard time with problem solving. At first multimedia or fine arts came to my mind because I do enjoy editing but then my brother told me to be practical in the future so I research and find CS an interesting course and career. Please po ate share ur advices kasi takot po talaga ako sa CS but interested po ako, knowing ang daming matatalino and I'm definetely not one of them kasi I don't have much experience and knowledge about computer software/hardware and also math bobo ako dyan. Will I still choose this course? Help me po, THANK YOU❤️

So far in my first semester as a freshman, wala. One of the courses that I considered in college before, along with Computer Science, was Multimedia Arts. If ever you want to focus more on animation, vfx, and editing and pursue a career in that field, I think Multimedia Arts is the course for you. However, if you want to major in Computer Science while doing animation, vfx, and editing, you can join a club/organization and still take up computer science. Hope this helps 😊

Hi! I asked a friend of mine who graduated from IT and he said that CS is deeper and is about structure, algorithm, and data manipulation using math. On the other hand, IT is more on hardware and computer networks.
