Grabe ang hirap po online class bscs lalo na samin mahina lang net tapos d kami bigyan ng notes dapat pasok lng sa gmeet at kapag may exam tapos may power interruption walang special exam na experience kopa to last sem at ngayon 2nd sem I failed again it's hard. I'm from an island btw so yeah slow internet connection and unexpected power interruptions. I hope maging f2f na😭😭

When I graduated from high school, my father wanted me to take Electronics & Communications Engineering even though I wanted to be a Civil Engineer. Three semesters in the course, I discovered my passion in programming and switched to Computer Science in the process. I’m now a software developer. . Follow your passion. Hello, I'm a 2nd yr Comp Sci student and I also suck at math. It is really math inclined but some math subjs are also conceptual like matrices. Don't be discourage what I do is find the subjs that I kind of excel or understand and give more effort. Programming is really hard but yt vids, looking at sample codes and how they work really helps and FRIENDS you really need friends to help discuss and analyze the program

And I advice you to really polish your algebra skills and derivatives. As a really hard course, Understanding how the program works its individual lines, functions and variables is enough, its already a big step.

Hello, yeah I agree with GattoCat that there are a lot of math lessons in Computer Science. However, the bulk of it is still programming. I suggest that you always practice sa math and watch Organic Chem/Khan Academy videos if ever may math concepts na nalilito ka (I also watch this videos sometimes 😉). College is super fun 😊 It’s just that there are times that it can be challenging. Overall, it’s super fun so don’t be scared. Kaya mo yan! Kaya natin ito 😊🤗

Hahahha of course meron naman scary like solo report, sayawan, late sa klase, nalaglag sa stairs, nakalimutan baon, nakalimutan yung assignment, walang kaibigan first few days, awayan sa kaklase, 0 sa test, fail 2 sems, sobrang traffic at defense title - in my 5 year of comp. Eng'g student defense project yung pinaka memorable, 8 months yung whole thesis title, ako main programmer ng group, pero managed to fail final defense yet success sa summer defense. All i can say is kahit ikaw pinaka magaling mag code, if wala kang time management palpak parin HAHAHA Also programming is 80% google, 20% actually coding. Most of the coding is not actually typing but thinking algorithms in your head, most of it i use pencil and paper to sketch my thoughts. But as a beginner, just go rouge with your program kahit alam mo mali, just type and let the compiler spits put errrors. The more you type, the more you learn about the syntax of the programming you're using. One asset of being a programmer is able to think logically, that's how you will be able to find the terms to google in the first place. Best asset is learning how to learn, 100% trust me and i think ate @Bea can attest to that hahaha

Oh gosh natandaan ko yung nakalimutan ko assignment ko sa statistics sa bahay 😭 tapos kailangan ko i-print sa dorm and i-solve ng mabilisan 😂. Yeah, also, 80% of programming is thinking of the solution and algorithm , 10% of it is coding, and 10% is debugging, tapos pwedeng additional ilang percent sa stack overflow/google HAHAHAHA. Congrats by the way sa thesis. Graduate ka na?

Bea Emanuela It’s not just in comp eng that people shift. There are students in comsci who also shift to another course. There are people who got in a course that they thought they wanted but realized that it wasn’t for them and it’s not aligned with their strengths. That’s why they shifted and that’s okay 😊. What’s important is to be in the course that you love. In any course, there are challenges and that’s the reality but as long as you love what you do, you’ll get through it. 😊

hi ate! upcoming grade 12 stem student here. recently, i've been worrying about what course to take bcs college admissions for 2023-2024 are near. i'm interested in taking cs. my concern lang po is we didn't have any programming subjects or even electives in stem. basically, i have zero knowledge about coding. i'm wondering if i should continue to pursue it or consider other options? idk if i'll be fine learning it on my own since i spent a whole day finishing a project just for our basic html class T_T i heard there's a lot of heavy math rin. not sure if i can still handle it like i did back in f2f and i feel like brushing up sa topics and studying again + learn coding.. i'd like to hear your thoughts, suggestions or any advice po :) sorry po if this is a lot and kinda late haha but thank you po
