Happy 808 Day! Good video. I'm gonna get this today. But I have a question on something you mentioned. You said sub factor could possibly be updated at a later date. They do that? How do we know when a plugin has an available update? Is it tge same as the firmware updates or included in that? I have a few of the add on plugins but I haven't ever noticed them being updated. I'm probably missing out! 😅

@@Trioptic3D oh they absolutely do update the plugins from time to time. If you have the inMusic Software Center installed and you are logged into your Akai account it will show when the plugins you own or the software has an update. (Note: the desktop version is usually updated before the standalone version)

Thanks for this video. I own Sublab and Sublab XL. Sub Factory looks like very close to sublab (XL). I needed more like ready to use 808 generator which requires less customization. I think I got to get 808 cooker instead. It is just 14 usd right now.

Sub Factory has a bunch of ready to go 808 presets but you can also create and customise new ones.

Not an complaint nothing major I noticed when using sub factory on live 2 in the mixer/filter view no background wav visual. Like in the software view. I have seen the actual background wav visual displayed when sound Is being played with sub factory 🤔

@GhettoStyles right to close not to compare when I first watched the video by akai I thought I gotta get out sublab and sublab xl to compare. I watched your video right after watching akai . I was like nope you did it already 👍🏾🔥👍🏾😅. When it comes to sublab vs sublab xl sublab is easier to use from my prospective. I think sublab xl have extra features which can save on using extra processing effects if needed. Something I did a few months back was export all of my sublab presets into one shots wav files. Into one folder to be used in any daw application or mobile music creation device that loads one shots wav files. Basically my own sublab 808,kick, sub, basses, start up from scratch 🫡

If an mpc user need a sampler inside their sampler to make an 808 when we already got 4 layers on a pad with 4 more on the way then producer skill sets are suffering. Hate to see it tbh. We used to be the smartest people in the session, now we can't make the woofer move unless we have the perfect vst? Ooof

@@Craftmaster3 I look at it a little differently. There are definitely other ways to make 808s to your heart’s content but if something makes it easier and or faster I’m all for it. I would definitely like to be able to put any sound into SubFactory and use it as an effect on that sound. There is already a sample layer. Why not open it up?
