I'm a Mini D guy as well but if you're into modern hiphop I can for sure see the value of this. It's actually a pretty smart move of Air in that regard as it touches a huge producer demography. I would actually go as far as claiming that this could be an MPC system seller.

Mini D doesn't have wavetables which are typically heavier on cpu....I'm not surprised it's mono only....I'm actually kind of surprised they were able to bring this on the hardware at all

Such a useful tool - I pulled the trigger last night, as it's on 'silly cheap' launch price. I have a modwave for polyphonic wavetable stuff, but this is so nice and easy to use, right there in the box. Akai are on fire at the moment :) The only thingI don't have now in the MPC is the stupid siren thing (not interested) and sadly the Mini D - but I missed the launch price for it andi t's a bit steep now for the use I would get out of it. Love how you can use this to do sound design and spacy trippy noises (I'm not a 'beat' maker or hip hop/dubstep guy). Now... all we need is 3.0 and all will be bliss.

true ...polyphony would have made this a great for getting the sound design to perform with unique freshness....i know it is a bass synth, but as a bass player , harmonics for sound design, actually enhances performances . As someone who owns a bass station 2 synth , im well impressed by its sonics....AKAI, update polyphony ASAP. GR8 overview Tefty .

To get over the polyphony limitations couldn’t you resample and then play chords with the sample. Not a perfect fix but a workaround.

Yup, decent solution, but you miss out on tweaking filters and modulation live when it's been sampled.

Do you own a Roland jaira j6 ? I cant seem to figure out why i dont hear the sound back after i recorded in the midi , i hear the sound when i play the buttons. I own a mininova , after i record the midi in i switch from in to auto and hear my sound , so i basicly know how it works. Kinda hope you run into this problem and know what to do

Should sound shite when used with the midi note off bug present since version 1, in Mpc software, all standalone hardware models, and the force . Priorities eh Akai?

@@pcuimacplay and hold a note on midi channel one , if that same note is transmitted on channel two or any other channel and then released, the held note on channel one stops too. Kinda makes em useless if you want to sequence them externally
