Man!!!! I’ve been using 3.0 for about a month now and LOVING it after a slow and apprehensive start. However, I didn’t realize that you could just raise and lower the grid view with your finger on the arranger page. I thought that whole lower section was just for automation tweaks. Given that blind spot, I had been toggling back and forth unnecessarily with the two little icons (arranger and grid) that sit in the top left corner. My jaw fell open when I saw your workflow. So effin awesome. Glad I subscribed to your channel bro. Your content is always on point and valuable…. Things that inspire me and that I can put into practice right away. Thanks!!

There are some gems in this! I'm definitely experiencing a big change in how I interact with the MPC compared to the first MPC One I had. I never understood why someone would choose MPC over Ableton, but that's been my move lately haha. I've been able to do sound design and sketch ideas at coffee shops. I'm starting to get my process down with how I incorporate my piano/keys playing production style with the MPC and I'm planning to start doing videos showing that process soon 🤞🏼

Sometimes I just use the song mode, convert it to a sequence and throw it into the arranger to finish it off, that’s what I love about the MPC, there’s multiple ways to make your beats, you just have to find a workflow that works the best for you.

MPC screen is looking and operating a lot more like the computer software DAWs that most people are used to. But MPC ONE/LIVE is like having the computer and audio interface in an all in ONE device ; ) …. Of course you could plug an audio interface or mixer into it, but it’s not necessary … rabbit holes are everywhere. The arranger reminds me of GarageBand or Logic in a weird way.

I cannot do my old workflow on mpc3, where I copy a made major Sequence 1 to Sequence 2 and play with track mute as I could do it on mpc2 and put it together in Song Mode. If I mute a track in Sequence 2 it will be muted in Sequence 1 too. I cannot do Sequences as I could in mpc2 in the new mpc3! And I made the adjustments on the wheels right top corner!

Quick question: How do you merge 2 audio Tracks into one? (Beyond resample) I wanted to record some live instruments and overdub did not work or didnt do anything, so I had to make it on 2 tracks instead.

Man, trust me I know what you’re feeling 100%. And to answer your question yes you could definitely get the MPC one and upgraded to the 3.0. They are exactly the same thing. The only difference is that the one plus gives you built-in Wi-Fi.

This was a great video. It missed on one key thing that’s been cumbersome for me. Let’s say you wanted to use the chops from your verse as your intro without playing it over. It’s hard/awkward to select the notes and duplicate/copy-paste them to a different bar. 😑

Like the workflow of 3.0, but I lost and mixed all my sounds that were pre set on pads… none of my older beats sound the same even after downgrading… midi notes are there but sounds are all off… very annoying
