I did a similar test with frost spray paint and the same thing happened but I took it and washed off the paper and it turned out good. I just had to apply a clear coating of some kind because it was a little ashy in appearance after I washed it off. Other than that it was cool. Same method could work for this.

Regarding your frost spray paint test...Do I understand your correctly, you used the frost spray paint as your sublimation coating, the first thing you applied to the object before transferring your design/image? I'm a total newbie and am getting a little confused. LOL 🙂TIA!

Hi, there is a video of a guy using the poly... What he did, was take sand paper ruff up the area and tgan applied the polyurethane. And the c up came out great
@missqueen583 жыл бұрын
Can you share the video link of that video? I wonder if it would work for the spray after sand papering a mug too...?

Try a layer of mod podge the dish washer safe kind. Apply a layer let it cure apply your print and then apply a coat on top to seal it In.
@wengky92283 жыл бұрын
Delute the polyurethane with laquer thinner. The poly is too thick thats why the paper sticks on the mug. Also try the setting of 180 deg, 150 secs

Is it minwax you are using polyurethane or polycrylic because they are two totally different things.
@CraftingMadeEasy3 жыл бұрын
It was polycrylic, I kept saying the wrong thing. I do have another video using polyurethane tho
@VeronicaHernandez-zo4dv4 жыл бұрын
Do you think the same poly brand in spray would also work?
@CraftingMadeEasy4 жыл бұрын
I tried the store brought one, and it didn't work

I’m going to try this, but I’m going to and it first, then apply the poly then apply an acrylic clear coat 😁

Do you have to let the poly and the subli cure for 24hrs before you sublimate?
@CraftingMadeEasy4 жыл бұрын
I did

Is there a difference between polycyclic and polyurethane? Your container says polycrylic. I know both are finishing coats but one is thinner than the other. I also think the type of surface makes a difference.
@CraftingMadeEasy3 жыл бұрын
I used polycrylic. I don't know why I always call it polyurethane. Both are finishing coats, other than that I don't know of any difference.
@mgratteri3 жыл бұрын
Polyurethane is both water/oil based, polycrylic is water based.
@kckid684 жыл бұрын
Maybe you could try to cure the coating by putting th e cup with just the coating in the press just for a few minutes . This might help.
@CraftingMadeEasy4 жыл бұрын
I will give it a try

When you coat it cure it in the oven before the heat press
@CraftingMadeEasy4 жыл бұрын
Ok, I will try that and report

Veronica, have you tried to cure polycrylic in the oven? I happen to be trying that this weekend and I was curious how long to leave it in the oven and at what temperature.
@ericajones87182 жыл бұрын
@@RitaCory what was your result after curing in the oven?
@RitaCory2 жыл бұрын
@@ericajones8718 sadly a fail. I'm unsure if it was the printer choice (someone online said I could use laser printer) or the temperature setting when I sublimated. I haven't tried it again since but will again once I get my new sublimation printer in a few weeks.
