Love this video! The only thing do not shake the polyacrylic, my husband is a professional painter and said never shake always stir this type of paint. I made sure to ask him before I made my ornaments this way!

That’s really great. Would you put on another coat of poly after you sub if you’re going to hang something outside? Also I have spray Minwax Helmsman Spray. I assume that would work.

Hey Stephanie, I'm not sure about the second coat but I imagine it couldn't hurt. If hanging outside, I would either spray with a UV shield or make sure it's not in direct sunlight, the UV rays will fade the sublimation ink. Hope this helps! ---Becky

I tried on pine wood that had been around a very long time and it pulled sap out of the wood and scorched in those areas.

I am desperate to find my answer but what kind of paper and what kind of ink are you using? I have been using durabrite in my Epson printer and heat transfer paper (not HTV). 375 degrees for 25 seconds medium pressure on the heat press. Am getting some smearing/blurring and sometimes the paint comes up (but the paint coming up actually looks ok - rustic in appearance)

Your printer has to be set up with sublimation ink or you can use sublimation markers for your images.

Yes sublimation is a special ink, paper and printer, and a heat press that goes to at least 400f, and only transfers onto polyester or high poly content blends. There are lots of videos about this craft on Google and KZbin. Enjoy researching!

I stop using it because you really don't get good results as you would with laminated sheets.. And you have to mention the type of wood to get. I found that Birchwood comes the closest to getting a somewhat good result. It does not work well on all wood. I didn't like the way kept sticking that you have to go and wash it off too much of a bother
