I was fortunate enough to see a live show back before Bradley with the voice of an angel departed from us. I was new to So Cal never heard ANYTHING LIKE IT! Still one of the best albums of the century. Can’t believe it’s been 30yrs. Thats wild ! This song is a masterpiece. The way Bradley uses his voice like a calming a seductive weapon…so poetic, groovy and almost jazzy. Music is subjective so I won’t fault anyone for liking a cover over the original: honestly until I read these comments I didn’t even know Lana covered this song, because I enjoy her music about as much as the idea of giving myself hernia surgery; but that’s just my take, you’re free to yours. Either way, I don’t think this song can ever be done right again; you just can’t separate a Sublime song from Bradley’s voice: they are forever interconnected. Without Bradley singing, this song, no matter who does it or how good it’s done, will always be off. There will always be that nagging feeling of something missing.

Getting tired of you all in this comment section. Music is SUBJECTIVE. And LDR doesn't want you to defend her song over this or something, she literally grew up with this style of music. Her biggest influences are Taylor Swift, and Kurt Cobain. Literally neither Bradley Nowell OR LDR alike would like this. People in the music industry bounce ideas of one another. Its been commonplace since there was sound. I just wish people would stop fighting about which ones better. And look, I prefer this one I grew up with this stuff too. Peace. Edit: this was originally Ella Fitzgerald - Summertime (1968) . Apparently Janis Joplin covered it too. This song has been through a long history I guess, and it's kinda amazing. Just enjoy its here, because it wont be forever.
