The audience crapped on Hole, I remember people throwing bottles at Courtney. She replied No thanks I have some. Drew Barrymore was there too. Sponge guy went on a rant about what evil truly is, that its the Happy Meal burger that will explode in your chest 25 years later. Other than that Soul Asylum was great as the Ramones too. White Zombie spidey got ripped up as well.

At 1:13 Brad's AB switcher malfunctions, he has to bend down to switch it over by hand and misses the first section of the verse. Unfazed, he pops back up and comes back in right on time. Then, at 1:21 that little laugh when he brings the guitar back in...man, this dude is just up there, shirtless and careless, being his full, true and complete self, there is no self-consciousness or facade...no aires or pretending, no attempt to convince, impress or win over anyone. He is just doing what he loves to do. He makes it look so damn easy because for him, it WAS that easy. That's how talented he was. Even with no discipline, no self-regard, he fulfilled his destiny on his own terms. No matter what you think of their music, that has to be applauded. And just as he was about to unlocked the future of his dreams, a future in which he was a rich, famous, hugely popular rock star, he accidentally kills himself. He had done all the work, paid all the dues, shared all the gifts then he didn't even get to reap the rewards. Didn't get to grow old with Troy. Didn't get to watch his band become one of the most popular draws of the 1990's, didn't get to watch Jakob grow up, didn't get to see himself on MTV or hear himself on the radio, blasting out of passing cars and floating out of nearby restaurants. Never got to experience what it would have been like to be the prodigal son of Long Beach, a bona fide hometown hero. There are very few people who have lived life more authentically, more true to their own talents and desires and vices. It's a tragedy of Shakespearean proportions. He never got to reflect on or realize the true scope of his influence. And I don't mean to say that he didn't enjoy his ride. Dude probably partied more in his 28 years than most people do in two lifetimes. He never had some bullshit office job. Never had to ask himself if he was squandering his gifts. Never had to look back on the 'glory days' (because for him, they never ended). Never had to wonder what might have been. But in his honor, we must wonder such things. And so we do.

Same dude I was 6 yrs old and I had never heard of this type of music. I actually heard of No Doubt first when I was like 11 my moms bf had a dvd with all No Doubt music videos and me and my lil bro watched it over and over. My fav ones were actually the early No Doubt with the ska influence. Then in middle school I heard of Sublime but it wasn’t til now as an adult that I know the whole story. I really am disappointed at the direction the music industry went because even when I was 15 I was going to see pretty good bands live. People with actual talent and passion and the crowd was always so much fun. All the concerts I’ve been to in recent years the crowd was so... dead relative to how it was back in the day. 😢 The last really impressive show I went to was Foxy Shazam! Probably 7 years ago. I miss fun cool experimental bands like that and Sublime. All the bands nowadays are so emo and depressing.

He knew the difference between a reggae beat and a punk beat and a hip hop beat and a ska beat and a blues beat and even a hippie beat, and he knew how to play them all perfectly. Jakob (Brad's son) said on ig he & Gwen rehearsed this for Coachella 2024 but they both haven't spot, they both were limited. Coachella don't support rock/punk or ska music. Guess if Taylor Swift performed they would have give her 3 hrs to sing. The good thing is to see GWEN IS STILL THE SAME!!! Brad would be so proud. She and the boys performed Total Hate, Excuse Me Mr., Different People, Madness and The specials AKA covers!

I remember learning about this song 16 years ago (still well after it was released) because I listened to their whole acoustic album that contained this song without Gwen. Then, I found this live version on KZbin, and it totally changed my perception of Gwen Stefani. I still come back to this in 2023 like I did in 2007

They have some really good music now man. Just have to look in different places than you used to. Radio isn't it, everything mainstream is hyped by some people and organizations that push their agenda on the world. Some of these underground artists on sites like SoundCloud & Linktree are 🔥man, just have to take the time to look for it.

My love for both these singers blossomed at a show in 93ish.. Sublime headlined, No Doubt special guest, Voodoo Glow Skulls, maybe Face to Face, and The Schmedleys at 8 &1/2 Club in Anacrime Hills. Life changed, so did Gwen

@@DiktatGame I am aware. I thought it would had been fun to see with his son singing now with sublime and both sublime and no doubt performed same night at Coachella but obviously it’s not the same sublime without Bradley, it never will be.

I saw Sublime Live! LOL in 1994 or early 1995 at this divy bar on Boulder Highway, Calamity Janes! It was a bar and he was eye level with only a crowd of less than 75! But it was alive! Especially when they did ’We’re only going to die’ & ‘New Thrash’. the floor would spin and it would get fucking crazy!! You’d better pull out to the edge, or you get caught up closer to the ‘eye’ of that shit! then they’d slow down into a funky reggae, break into ‘begonias’ & I saw them again before he died, at this dance club on Paradise: The Beach! It was a JOCK club, with neon everywhere it looked like a fuckin mall it was so bright inside, but the show was good and a bigger crowd. Bradley still cranked it up and you get this feeling he wasn’t supposed to, but immediately that floor whirled up throwing people off the floor like a centrifuge! It was so fuckin’ bitchin’.

Sublime was my all time favorite band, even more while I was in high school from 96-00. In 2001 I got a job, and an older coworker told me he knew Bradley. I didn;t beleive him. Next day he shows up to work with a Polaroid picture with him, Eric, Bradley and Bud posing like friends having a good ole time. When he saw the reaction I had to that picture, knowing that Bradley held that photo, he decided to give it to me.
