ship really shines when you start really getting aggressive with it. even with the bounty test, you were still flying it like you were on a Sunday cruise. thing really comes alive once you start getting after it, has this awesome bit of inertia that makes you feel like a hero. a lot of the hornets do, but the f7a mk2 feels that little bit more precise in how it handles it. such an awesome, fun ship to fly

F7A with 2x Rhino or OnmiskyXII on wings and 4x S3 Tarantulas on the turrets is hella fun. But those turrets need way more hp... they die instantly if an npc uses ballistics/missiles.

While the Overdrive Initiative was worthwhile to do because it was a test 'foray' into something of a "questing" type multi part mission, I personally feel that it was marred by the accompanying ship sale that required you to have the ship in order to make the "Upgrade Prize/Reward" to make sense getting.

Using all CF series repeaters I was getting over 35 shots per charge with grade A mil-spec components. On both Rhinos and Panthers.

If you only use s3 panthers then you get like 60+ shots. its better to run mixed loadout, use wings for longer range or alpha damage cannons or gatlings and center line is the energy repeaters. You get 2000 ammo for gatlings now anyway so they last for quite a while, not that your supposed to keep the trigger down anyway so they will last even longer.

Shredders on your size threes and Omniskies under the wings, trust me you'll be laughing your way to the bank till the end of patch. Shredders get about 1k ammo each on size 3 and they are repeaters not gatlings so the cone fire issue is mitigated to a massive degree.

Once nerfed, like the F8C, Scorpius, Ion , no it wasn’t remotely. For now, yes if you want an unfair PvP advantage over other players then it’s the one. Then it will be “balanced” once player base is milked of sales.

You said being mixed loadout is bad, but actually on this ship that's the design. theres only so much capacitor charge available to the weapons, which is why it comes with the ballistic guns as well. I agree though that the weapon fire groups are backwards. you should be default using the energy weapons, until your ready to expend some valuable ammo.

I think when I said its bad its because of current bugs. Like weapon settings resetting after you exit the ship. It's a pain to remember to make the right one stage 1 or 2. I agree with you on that.

Okay, I love my F7A MKII. But I just ran the stats, while trying to figure out why i was having so much troubble with it, and I have to say, it's objectivly the worst hornet varrient. Those turrrets which put out insane damage, guess what they are made of tissue paper. Seriously the nose turret only has 100 hp, and the mount only has 275. These turrets are also easy targets. And if the turret is damaged you loose the weapons. (All balistics even the weakest s1's can take those out in 1-2 hits through shields.) For comparason the F7A MKI turrets have 2000 hp on the nose and 2500 hp on the top. (The top turret is identical otherwise.) This wouldnt be so bad if they were hidden under the gun like varpucks, but these turrets are take up a large portion of the exterior of the ship, meaning in a fight your likely to loose them early on. (And fighting is the only thing this ships does.) The ship manuvers worse than any other hornet, sure its not horriable, but when you compare it to any other hornet, well its the worst of the lot. And what do you get for that worse performance, well a whoping 4x fuel consumption. So, your burning 4x the fuel to fly worse than any other hornet. It also it also has a smaller qt tank than its predissor, so it can't even fly as far out. Seriously, the only good thing about this ship is its damage output, but a fart in the wrong direction will remove that advantage. On top of that try fighting using this ship in atmo, particularly at microtech, and well you will feel just how bad all of this is. Don't get me wrong I like my damaging beast, but I won't pretend its good so that it gets nerfed, when it has so many issues.

I am trying out a new loadout for the F7A MKII but I am not able to change the missles. Even if I remove the Ignite missles, I don't have any options to add any different missles. No matter what size I buy. Would anyone know why?

true, comparing the f7 and f8 doesnt really work. But when comparing the mk2 to the mk1´s or a Sabre on Erkul you get the same capacitor values for less guns, so the mk2 really is at a disadvantage as soon as you go full energy. So ill stay with my Sabre, even if i cant dual wield s4 gatlings with her

MKII - MKI = Cheap marketing. It is CIG's way to keep getting more money for basically the same ships with little effort. You kidding me? Clearly they are now getting so desperate which ultimately worries me about the future of my investment in this game. The game is still in development!! how can they retire something that never made it to the final game? I would understand later, maybe years later after the game has been finalized that they introduce the MKII. But NOT before. What does that say of all my ships?? Will the Carrack have a MKII replacing it? 890J MKII?? WTF.... So does that mean that little by little they will retire all our ships and "psychologically" push us to want to continue to buy our whole fleet once again because our OLD fleet is not on par with all the MKII's that will be available when the game finally goes gold?? If this will be a new trend CIG is doing I am stopping purchasing ships. I'm currently a Space Marshal and literally regretting it.

erkul is currently bugged atm where it gives random numbers to the weapon states cause it still thinks that gimbaled weapons on the same sized gimbal mounts are 1 tier lower. cause they haven't done it correctly, I noticed this last night when doing a loadout for my F7C

Why do you want full energy weapons? infinite ammo is cool and all but its far from being the most effective loadout. They rebalanced some weapons now too... mass drivers got a huge bump in range and speed. Strife 2's have 5000 speed and 5500 range its insane while Sledge 3 is abit slower but has 6000 range, you can be a sniper now! Some other guns were changed aswell. I would rather have long range cannons or something in the wings and have S3 energies in the middle. Let the testing commence!

I love the thing, but I do have two main complaints. The big one is that the capacitors on this thing feel pathetically small making it really hard and sub-optimal to run full energy weapons, The other one is just a bug and thats that the scan interface doesn't seem to work for it at the moment.

for the erkul part. you got a something wrong and here's why the 20 and 10 was actually 10 all around because when a hard point has multiple weapons like for example a dual size 3 mount erkul combines the ammo of all the weapons so a dual size 3 with 10 shots per gun would show up as 20 shots for that dual s3 hard point, you can show this by clicking the arrow immediately above the weapon. also you see that slot 1 2 3 4 you can use that to swap between up to 4 ships also also the various regen times change with power priority full power to weapons can regen the capacitors fast before rebalancing back to the middle at the cost of losing shield resistance while its full weapons, BUT on rebalance the weapons retain the ammo acquired and lose only above the maximum.

Love the thing, only issue i have so far is the top turret is incredibly fragile. In 2 fights so far it got damaged and i lost those guns even if they were there and operable, the turret wasn't. Got hit once by a missile on top and lost the tail and top turret, other time i only took damage to the turret, a ballistic cannon hit from a Vanguard and poof, 2 guns out of the fight... it's quite annoying to an otherwise great ship.

I have two stage trigger, I had to change weapons 1 and 2 in keybindings. Offcourse you need to have laser first, and then ballistic. If you change it in MFD's it go to default again when you cycle Flight modes?!?!? That have to be wrong..

Personally i run 2 size 4 omnis, and the rest is all tarantulas, you get a 20 something rounds with the 2 size 4s, then once you take down the shield you can shred them with ballistics, works great for me

@@SubliminaLstv The only thing I've ever heard any CC mention about vulkan IS Multi-Threading and never anything else, and honestly MT is the smallest, non functional aspect of the API as a whole. There is more going on between the CPU and GPU on Vulkan than just that one singular aspect. Edit: I appreciate your outlook on everything, just was hoping to click on your video and hear more than just the "multi threading" when talking about Vulkan mentioned like every other channel is doing. :)

I highly doubt that they will sell them at invictus considering they still have that multi-week multi-stage overdrive mission chain going on in order to get it. Afterall, you have to basically buy it anyway since OI only gives you a "free" upgrade token for which you need to buy a 170$ F7C MKII to apply it in the first place so they can't even argue that that was only a way to get it for free vs swiping the plastic card for it.

Its going on sale at Invictus along with the F8.

@@davewills148 The F8C never was a concierge exclusive award, it was always intended to be a Squadron 42 reward unlock for Star Citizen, the fact that high tier concierges got so butthurt over them selling it on spectrum and in concierge chat is just hilarious as if they were entitled to it. That aside, CIG uses the F7A MKII as a carrot to dangle infront of peoples noses to farm engagement and playtime with future events like Overdrive which they made pretty clear in the emails for the event aside from the F8C still being the civilian version unlike the F7A MKII.

Try switching the master modes and observe the thrusters. They change configs as the modes are switched over. Also, on NAV, this thing goes stupid fast.

I’m running Vulkan and see no issues, and the performace is WAY better for me on Vulkan. It was choppy when I first launched it on dx11 even with a 4090 and 7950x3d

Dude the information is all out there, maybe do a bit of research before you make the video instead of keep saying "idk idk"? F7A MKII is a medium fighter, has less fire power but massively more agile than F8C, which is a heavy fighter. The physical profile of the F7 is also a lot smaller, than the F8, making it a lot harder to hit. Any F7, including F7C MK1, F7C MK2, F7A MK2, can shit on F8C all day any day, and the poor F8 is not gonna be able to do anything about it. CIG has butchered the F8, making it slow like a bus. It's tanky and it has a lot of firepower, but all that means literally nothing in pvp, because speed and turn rate is king. All the ships that can out-run or out-turn F8, win, and that's a LONG list.

Maybe do a little bit of reading before writing a comment like this? This is a first look. The idea is to react to the ship, and give first impressions not find out everything about it before hand. This isn't a review. Dude I can care less about what information is out there. Almost none of it can be taken face value. They say the Banu Defender is a light fighter... and Yogi just spoke in an ISC and said the Sabre is a SchMedium fighter now. CIG doesn't know what class their own ships are how are we supposed to know with certainty? And the F7 has flown like shit in 90% of patches.
