Härligt gubbemoment du hade! :) Jag hade ett annat för några dagar sen när jag förklarade för en skivbutiksägare att MOFI inte alls är alltigenom analog, men att dem låter jäkligt bra ändå. Heja heja alla skivgubbar!

Hi Jonas! thanks for the shout-out. Love that Haynes record, and I've been tempted by the reissue but have not yet succumbed.

Thanks. It's great but I dident have one so it was a no brainer. It would be hard for me to get it if I already owned a good sounding copy!

The Jenkins is great indeed. I have the entirety of the JCOA label. All worth picking up.

Hey Jonas! How are you? I love Out of the Afternoon, great record, and i'm sure the Acoustic Sounds pressing sounds great. I agree about the LeRoy Jenkins, JCO record, it definitely doesn't feel like 18 free jazz players, I think that's because of LeRoy's compositions and conducting. I completely agree with you about Third Man Records pressing's, I have heard about (and experienced) many bad pressings from them so I don't think you went overboard at all. I actually just picked up the Aurora Borealis myself but I didn't listen to it yet, aside from the title track which I did enjoy. Hope all is well.

Hey Tom! Nice to hear from you. All good on this part of the world. =) I think im done with the Verve by Request series. I will research a lot at least before putting down any money on it, thats for sure. Imagine Impulse doing the same as Blue Note! That would be a dream come true! Have a great day Tom! //Jonas

Hello Jonas, I believe that all your Jazz followers would agree; I am always on the lookout for your next video and I personally could listen to you all day long. I value your insight and opinions. I am fortunate to have the 2009 Analogue Productions 45 RPM version of Out In The Afternoon and it's really good. I have my own personal way of rating my records and the top picks get the ("Desert Island Pick")category; then there's the ("My Divinity") that could make the "Desert Island" group and then the ("Great Albums") the rest don't get special labeling. You said that the Grant Green Nigeria could be you favorite Tone Poet and there are many. My "Divinity's" have been: Amy's Katanga, Corea's, Now He Sings, Baker's Picture Of Heath (Mono), Introducing Kenny Burrell (Mono), Donaldson's Mr Shing- A- Ling, Gordan's One Flight Up and Andrew Hill's Dance With Death; these are all true "Audiophile" quality! So far "The Picture Of Heath" has made the "Desert Island" category. I'll have to listen to each again to decide whether to move to the highest level. *One special note, let it be understood that Coltrane's Blue Train(Mono) will always be in the "Desert Island" category! Thanks so much for your great video's!

Hi Christopher and thanks for taking the time to write. I really appreciate it! Some of the titles you mention I do have in my "to listen to" pile so I'll probably show them in a video in the near future. Like Dance with death. Others ill put on my "to check out" list. Picture of Heath is actually in my pile of to listen to records so that will go straight up to number one in what to spin next! Thanks again Christopher and talk more soon! //Jonas

Hi Jonas, lots of Impulse master tapes were destroyed in a fire in 2008. Acoustic Sounds releases only when the original master tapes are present and are in good shape. Hence why Third Man Records is in charge of some titles from the Impulse records. They are all cut from digital source. Their pressing quality is often crap but that we knew for some time now. Happy listening min vän.

Ag so the Impulse was destroyed. Did not know that. Shit that sux! So acoustic sound is using their old metal works for the impulse releases? Like Karma and this Out in the…?
@gramophonea
@gramophonea 9 ай бұрын
@@SublimMedia Not all of them were destroyed. Those released by Acoustic Sounds are newly mastered from original master tapes by Ryan K Smith. Some are using old plates from Classic Records that Acoustic Sounds acquired many years ago. Those are often done by Grundman

That's a shame about the Third Man pressing, Love Cry is a fascinating album, a bridge between classic peak Ayler 1964-1966, and his final years that saw him being pushed by Impulse and Mary Maria Parks into a strange, yet oddly compelling, fee jazz/rock/gospel hybrid what was doomed from the start.

I think your pronunciation of "Third Man Records" is a much more fitting name for the company. I would buy a "Turd Man Records" for the name alone

Shrink off and away with the hype sticker crap, way to go, thumbs up. Third man records are only for stylish, hip people who buy records but don't listen to them, if you had asked me before, i would have told you😀

To each his own and I dont blame collectors that do keep the sticker. I can understand the collecting standpoint of it. I am just not that collector... But the shrink I never understood. I want that artwork to popp! When I pull a record out of the shelve I want that to hit me like a pile of bricks!

I dont think the Ayler is the worst Third Man reissue. The horns are super bright and in your face but it sounds like Graves was left on the tour bus outside with his kit and told to play from there.
