death metal needs to include melodic parts as well. GReat job try some melodic minor or phrygian licks mixed with what u r already doing Took years for me to realize I lacked melodic parts in my original death metal BALANCE you can go far. My first death metal band was in the late 80s Demigore all sticatto no legatto you can find the demo and youll see what I mean. Couldve been soooo much better. I ready to record entire new album

Bdm is supposed to have a more percussive, less melodic feel. Most bands within this genre use either chromatic or diminished octatonic scale.
