That was cool! It's amazing how big that barge is underwater. I keep hoping someone's going to send an ROV or something down to the other sunken barge in Slocan Lake - the one that sank with CPR engine 3512.

Thank you for the visit and comments! Yes, I'd love to see that wreck too!

The barge didn't actually sink, it listed, dumped the train into the lake, and righted itself. Right now, a documentary is being produced about the engine and will feature footage of the shipwrecked locomotive and it's train as they appear today.

i can't wait to see that! it's funny in this small area no one ever mentioned a crew on slocan lake filming the lost locomotive?

They did, they found it and are talking about recovering and restoring 3512.

The documentary on it just got posted about a week ago on KZbin

The compressor is amazingly well preserved, even at that shallow depth. Did you hear about the CPR steam locomotive in that lake?
@submrg3 жыл бұрын
I have heard of that locomotive. If it's true it is beyond my dive limits for sure. Slocan lake is really deep.

@@submrg It's true, engine is Canadian Pacific #3512, a 2-8-0. Fell off a railcar barge after it took on water and listed, along with some flat cars, a caboose, and a snowplow. They rest upright on the bottom in over 600 feet of water. From what I hear, it is in a near perfect state of preservation and in good condition.

Awesome! I never knew the number and an actual account. Thanks for the visit and comments!

@@submrg A documentary is being produced about the wreck and will feature footage of the wreck site these days. I say one image of the rear of its coal tender, very well preserved, no visible rust and the paint and lettering is intact.

There is a steam train underwater somewhere in slocan lake
@submrg Жыл бұрын
Yes i have heard that before but I'm not sure of it's location. The problem with Slocan Lake is 100 feet off shore it's usually over 400 feet+ deep. To deep for me.
