The Cyclops would realistically only be useable in the East Arctic, Lilypads, and Tree Spires so it would be kinda pointless

Idk why they would get rid of the internal customization from the cyclops. That was maybe the most unique thing I’ve seen in any game and I loved it. More than any of my bases, the cyclops felt like a home

The problem with the Cyclops was it was huge AF, so every biome has to be designed with it in mind. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it also felt like driving a bus and it wasn't always easy to negotiate tight space, especially in the Lost River cave system. The Cyclops wouldn't work with Below Zero's biomes, so they'd have to do the whole thing over again to introduce it.

I like the sea truck but still miss the seamoth and it's agility. If the sea truck was just a little more nimble I would love it. Miss that sonar upgrade as well though. The cyclops was cool in theory, but I found it such a pain to move around that I barely used it. I parked it in the blood kelp forest as a midway station between my main base and base at the ghost tree and just left it there.

I'm sure the Sonar was considered another element that was OP and took out the "mystery" of not seeing too far in the distance.

I found the cyclops mostly pointless in the first game. Slow, eats power cells like crazy. Only time I used it was to park in the lava area. At first I didnt want the seatruck because I missed the seamoth. But after awhile I found the seatruck to be better than both the seamoth and cyclops. On the seatruck, the defense system can kill monsters, you can ram things to death, can carry the PRAWN around. Also adding the horse power upgrade doesn't make it slow anymore.

The Cyclops is great if used correctly. I mainly use it to go mining. It has food and water production so I could mine in a spot for like two hours and be completely set on resources for a very long time.

Thats the tying that made me disappointed the seatruck is already worse than a cyclops without upgrades but it doesnt even have an ai.

I didn't really liked the seatruck until I heard that the sleeper module have a jukebox. Then I renamed the MF to PARTYBUS and went everywhere blasting. It was so much fun.

I miss the Seamoth. I wish we had both, with the Seatruck being more capable but slower and clumsier and the Seamoth being faster, more maneuverable, but less capable.

The cyclops was clearly superior. It was a mobile multi purpose room. This sea truck never needed so many modules. Just give it an empty module that you can build stuff in and it could be almost as good. I remember it even had a plant pot module in early access but the developers dumped that idea. The sea truck only really needs to be a prawn suit transport.

To some players it was too OP but also supposedly limited the freedom of the devs to make smaller cave systems. I consider that to be wrong, since in real life there are plenty of places a standard submarine cannot go and we use other methods to explore. The Cyclops could have been a part of SBZ with the Seamoth getting an overhaul to make it a little better, and then the Seatruck would never need to exist.

I think the Seatruck is a neat idea. But I do miss the feel of having the feel of a truly mobile base with the Cyclops. Perhaps if the Storage was like mentioned with the 4 standing lockers instead, and if we had a module that had like two grow beds (that could poke out and make the Seatruck look like it had wings) or something. Just feels like it is missing something to make it complete.

During EA, I said a few times that the devs could save time and effort by removing certain modules like the Storage and Fabricator modules, and instead give players a Custom module. Something that would offer customization, albeit more limited, like we had with the Cyclops.

I didn't like the premise of the sea truck, and I immediately felt it was gimmicky. Then I started using it. It actually works quite well, especially the way some of the biomes are designed. Cyclops just wouldn't work well, and Seamoth just isn't hardy enough. And what I initially felt was gimmicky is actually very, very practical.

And that is a case for personal preference. To me, it is still a poor implementation especially when you look at the logic of it. Logically, you would want to make full use of all available space so immediately the Storage and Fabricator modules stand out as bad. Also, in real life, we have places submarines cannot go so we send smaller subs and ROVs. That is basically what the Seamoth did in the original game and would still make perfect sense in SBZ. To some people the Cyclops was OP. To others it was near perfect. Same will be with the Seatruck. It all depends on how you like using it.

The one good thing about the sea truck is the aquarium module. But I wish they made a second Cyclops and added an aquarium module to that

The Aquarium module doesn't allow for breeding fish. It literally just collects them as you drive around. Next to the Sleeper Module, its the least used one for me.

I get the most use out of the Seatruck as a ... well a truck, using it on resource gathering/mining expeditions and also carrying materials for building additional bases/outposts.

Definitely not a fan of the Sea Truck... I don't think anything will change that. But I am curious how the teleportation module works if you have multiple Sea Trucks (each with a teleportation module)...

Since I've never found a real need for the Teleporation module since it does not accommodate the Prawn suit, I can't tell you how it pairs with more than one module. My guess would be based on either proximity (closest module with power) or last used Seatruck due to how the "warpme" console command functions.

Seamoth is still in the game code at the moment and can be access through console commands. The Cyclops is gone. So you won't be seeing the Cyclops in the game without the devs as any modder adding it in could be hit for infringing on intellectual property.

Also, the first map was designed specifically to accommodate the cyclops, which is why it feels so much more bigger and, by accident apparently, intimidating. Sbz's map is much tighter precisely because you've got the truck, and it forces you to decide which modules to bring on certain journeys and whether to risk it in right places or just get out and swim. Unfortunately, the game breaking vehicle in sbz is the PRAWN (much as it was in the first game), as once you've got that (and got the bugger onto the last island), you can practically zoom all over the place with very little risk. I know they brought it in for the koppa mine, but I'd have left it out entirely, and just kept the truck and the fox, particularly as most players would have played the first game, and would know about the Spider-Man trick for getting about at speed.

The Seatruck would have been perfect if it just had a multipurpose module where you could build things in. Maybe restrict grow beds if those are too op (plus the dirt would probably be spilling out with how it drives) but having more customizability within modules and more usable storage would be nice.

I wish all three were available. The seatruck has its benefits, I think the main thing being just how small it is compared to the cyclops, but the customizability of the cyclosp was great.

Having just played through both games, I can say that I loved the Seamoth, hated the Cyclops (the first time anyway, since I didn't know how to use it), and thought the Seatruck was the best fusion of the two. It has the storage of 4.5 storage upgrades with just one module, and if you need to fit into tight spaces, you can just detach the modules. You have most of the maneuverability of the Seamoth, and can take a Prawn suit in order to take advantage of those real rich ore deposits. Only thing it is really lacking is a way to generate power

I'd like to see the seatruck able to do more at once. I used the cyclops like a movable base, and would have liked to see something similar, but it can't do as much at the same time. I'd like to see the fabricator and storage module combined into one storage/fabricator module with a storage upgrade slot. I'd like to see the sleeper cab be able to grow food as well. What would really make the seatruck different and maybe even better than the cyclops would be a bioreactor added to the aquarium. If this thing could have basically unlimited power (and maybe a battery charging station) that would be something the cyclops couldn't do. Alternately, it would be cool if you could essentially create a base that you detach from the seatruck in an area, and have it still function. Perhaps even build upon the initial set up.

There was a Planter Module teased during Early Access but it never made it out of the experimental branch before getting removed. As far as modules taking upgrades, that was probably considered redundant since you would just install upgrades on the cabin. I suggested during EA that they could replace some of the modules with a single Custom module but that never was done.

I was expecting a farming module or something, so i can bring unlimited food and water with me just like the old days with the big boi cyclops, I have many ideas for seatruck modules and updates for it like the old ai voice sounds that plays when we enter the seatruck.

After lamenting the loss of the cyclops, I thought of something. The original kept its originality even after the Sub Zero release. If they gave us a cyclops in this, or something maybe slightly improved, there would be NO reason to replay the original. I still think there should be a third vehicle in Sub Zero though. Feels like it's missing something without something that can somewhat cope with leviathan attacks. Plus, it was fun running around after barely escaping a conflict, repairing your ship and putting out fires before it blew up...

Personally I kinda like the sea truck. It’s not the sea moth that’s for sure but it is kinda cool. I’d like them to add the sea moth and cyclops in. The more vehicles the better.

I don't see the Cyclops happening. As fat as the Seatruck is, it can still get into a lot of places that the Cyclops would never be able to in a million years. You'd wind up having to leave the Cyclops behind most of the time anyway because of that.

I don’t know if they changed the sleeper module but it isn’t just cosmetic. It’s arguably the most important module. I die a ton I’m Subnautica Below Zero and I found as long as I have the sleeper module attached and I’m exploring with my sea truck, I always respawn nearby in my sleeper module.

If youre using it for exploration you better have the perimeter system and a few extra cells. Stay safe and maybe you could make a video on the module you need for an important task at the first alterra placed beacon since its kinda easy to miss. Im being vague incase there someone that hasnt played below zero. I honestly think they should've kept the cyclops. But have it as a more compact sub. But the seatruck serves the same purpose and you dont take it as deep down as the cyclops.

What important module for an important task? I've done everything through Early Access without anything other than three modules which are just for making things easier. So unless something has been added to the very end of the story, you can complete the game with just the main Seatruck cabin.

The seatruck is disappointment. No sonar, no silent mode to sneak past leviathans, no decoys for oh shit moments, cant decorate, cant make into a proper base, how was this meant to replace the Cyclops?

Actually it wasnt meant to replace the cyclops. If you play BZ you can tell by playing just an hour that map of BZ is comparatively very small than the vanilla. And enteances of some areas do require to use small vehicles like seamoth. They wanted to add customising ability to the seamoth, so they just made a vehicle that fits in close areas and which can be used as a remporary shelter. It has fabricator and storage, you can sleep, eat and also dock your prawn suit and in some conditions in later games when you are exploring the big ass leviathan, you can use the teleportation module. I would suggest to use mod that disables the speed penalty of adding modules, seatruck is really awesome. And the sonar, would have been a good addition to the seatruck, but a decoy isnt meant for a small vehicle, its for a large submarine. And perimeter defence system really helps when that thing tries to eat us wholly. It is really scarey.

I think it was meant not to directly replace the Cyclops but did in fact get designed for that. More so, I think it was done in a way to push players more towards base building as we have a greater focus on the base design capabilities. If that was not the intention, then there should have been a customization aspect to the Seatruck instead of the Storage and Fabrication modules.

@@MrSpicyGaming it definitely pushed me towards more base building, but I found base building to be more bothersome in BZ because of the poor storage space on the seatruck causing every mining expedition I do end very quickly and forcing me to do more frequent smaller hauls from source to destination. atleast the seatruck lives up to its name, definitely feel more like a trucker hauling cargo. I'd rather forego all the other modules just give me prer, large storage space. if you want to encourage more base building make me go there to fabricate, renew food/water provisions etc.

Haven't fully built my seatruck. I have the ability to do fabricator and storage modules. I have half the scans for the rest. So far, I can't see why I should be bothered. It's slow and cant store worth crap. If the storage were massively upgraded, I'd concider it. Otherwise, I'll stick to moving my stationary base with multiple trips in a bare bones truck. At least it's fast. I miss the Cyclops. Could fit in everything you need for a fully functioning base. Even enough storage for mats to build a fully furnished temporary base to charge the batteries/explore out of. Seatruck, while an alright idea, is a swing and a miss.

The seamoth was certainly more agile, I keep hitting things with the truck. I do however like the truck over the Cyclops. I managed to get my Cyclops into the lava biom by driving it backwards but then left it there as a base.

Blasphemy! 😄Cyclops was a perfect vehicle, at least for the original world. The secret has always been to use the outside cameras in a proper way. For some reason this had been a lot of fun to navigate that big ship in the narrowest of passages without a single collision. Besides, you had an energy shield that made the hull invulnerable. Well, at least there's a sequel that we can enjoy - I'll take that over nothing.

The Cyclops was viable as a primary base. Granted internal space was limited, but you could still fit a metric shitton of storage and other stuff into it. The Seatruck just doesn't compare in comparison; with no Cyclops, you *need* a habitat in order to do most of the stuff you're going to need. Of course, I realise that with Sector Zero being so much smaller, and with so many cramped places, the Cyclops has to be left behind a lot of the time anyway. But at least your base would be so much closer when you had to unload if you were running out of a Cyclops. Ahh well. Maybe the Atlas will be released some time and serve as a viable alternative.

I miss the agility of the Seamoth. It was small, and tight, and could squeeze into some fairly-small gaps. The Seatruck is a fat bastard by comparison (though not as fat as me) and while it's still easy-enough to get into some tight spaces, getting it *out* can range from "tricky" to "ragequit". I also miss the Cyclops for its ability to function as a mobile base. You still need *some* habitat in order to recharge, but it's possible to use the Cyclops primarily, for your storage, fabrication, everything, and use your stationary habitat for nothing else. That's not an option in BZ, you must have a habitat and it will wind up serving as your primary habitat because the Seatruck just... can't.

The base options saw the biggest improvements in SBZ. So making the Seatruck less useful is a way to push more players to build bases and use the new additions.

I love the sea moth but I would actually rather have that a bit later in the game than have seamoth as early as you get it.. maybe it’s Becuase I just got destroyed by a reaper the first time I got it or something but I just really don’t like it much anymore… but they should have more vehicles maybe even a copy paste of Cyclopes but harder to get? Idk something like that..

Imo seatruck is somewhere between seamoth and cyclops, i never liked cyclops because its too big and we coudnt get inside lost river because of its size (ignoring some parts). I think seatruck has more potential and its a great vehicle, the attachment function of modules are badass system. I have completed the game once after the launch and thrice before the launch, and vanilla subnautica 5 times and currently playing another playthrough of BZ with mods. I think the modding community will increase seatruck's potential by 1000% (like adding more modules, already there is a scanner room module someone modded), so yeah i think seatruck is a great vehicle.

@@kentchr76 yes you can in some entrances, but its very hard to maneuver inside the lost river. And besides its a submarine of huge size that wont fit in the map of BZ. The usefulness of cyclops is vast in nature, but seatruck also provides same agility of seamoth with features of cyclops. I would rather choose seatruck over them anytime in both games. Also i would have liked if we could access inventory of prawn suit from inside the seatruck, rather than going outside like the feature in cyclops.

@@harsh.thehulk Not some of the entrances - all of them! And you actually CAN access the inventory in the Seamoth or the Prawnsuit from inside the Cyclops. You just click on the inventory icon on the vehicle console in the Cyclops. How much have you played the game really?

The Cyclops will work through ALL of the Lost River. I my hundreds of hours in the game, I've gone through all the LR with my Cyclops. I understand that the Seatruck can win out in personal preference for some people. But from a design standpoint, the Cyclops fits the bill as the customization let you make use of nearly all the interior space. The Seatruck fails to be a logical design because of this. Just the fact the Fabricator module has a blank empty wall shows how bad the Seatruck design is. A submarine is meant for long term exploration even the smaller ones. You don't waste interior space in them.

Shame that most of the modules for the Seatruck are completely useless, at least from a gameplay perspective. They should have made it so that the fish can breed in the aquariums, giving you an unlimited food source on board the Seatruck.

i get why they didnt put the cyclops since the map is small and the path you use to access biomes usually arent big enough for a cyclops but i really hate the sea truck. 1. i miss the internal customization from cyclops but the seatruck wasnt supposed to be like that so ok i can live with it 2. MY biggest problem is what the hell are they doing with the seatruck features. The modules provided are supposed to make the seatruck as a movable base of long travel vehicle with the whole docking station, then why the hell didnt they add features like the cyclops like the different cameras, sonar and stuff, you know how many times i thought i parked my seatruck straight only to leave the drivers seat and realize it was completly upward sloped, how am i supposed to use it as a base and access the modules like rooms when i cant even park it completly horizontal and since the map is small just having one more module i keep bumping everywhere atleast they should've put a sonar and some way to charge on the fly 3. And the storage, if youre gonna give a completly different room just for storage that does a massive hit to your speed atleast make it worthwhile i go out with my prawn and seatruck storage module for bit of a mining and i cant even explore well before the storage is completly filled and i have no options but to slowlyyyyyy head back to the base. The food and water consumption is incredibly fast so i need to carry water with me in those storage if im exploring and extra batteries and powercells as well if im using the perimeter defence too much so i have even less space left

They didn’t remove it from the game but removed the ability to make it in normal survival mode.

I have a sort of bug that if incline my seatruck to the top or the bottom he will stuck and I will be forced to pick up the batteries what to the seatruck to replace imself to its original position and reload the batteries

I miss the seamoth and cyclops, both where special in their size, i bearly hit something both in my seamoth or cyclps, but in the seatruck... i hit everything, because de downside is so big and because de turbines on the side are so wide, i always hit something that damages my seatruck, if i take it to the lilypad islands and make it back, always, has less tham 50% of health left

Yes its fatter than the seamoth, but I was able to pilot it w/ no modules way down the geothermal cave system right off Delta island all the way into the Mining Operation so idk I’m only hitting shit when I have a train, I detach when I need to book it or squeeze through

The irony is the Seatruck is meant to replace the Cyclops because the Cyclops was too big to maneuver around this map in certain areas.

Not that I'm aware, same way you couldn't unmake the cyclops. You could always just shove unwanted compartments into the deadzone for the leviathans to play with, I suppose... 🤔

I Think the Developers purposefully made the the Sea Slug a "Not So Great sea vehicle" to encourage land exploration. Driving the Sea Slug is like trying to drive A "Short Bus" in a Medieval European Village while trying not to run into buildings . The ONLY usable modules are the Storage Modules and the docking Modules....and NOT giving the ability to Customize Modules is a Crime in a Builders Game.. OH and Don't Forget! Those GREAT PEAKS you want to build On !...Sorry...Invisible Wall...Nope Can't Build There....BZ is About BUILDING Limitations Because Developers believed "STORY was The Shit"...BZ is a "Play Through Once Game" for me. As I write this ..I'm already planning my next base in the Original Subnautica.....Sorry BZ is a Disappointment

Look at it as being able to do just less and of course no internal mod, smack a fabricator module and you can go out on a glass and titanium ingot run and come back loaded with all you need of what your hurting for. And I dont see it as a way to encourage land exploration so much as a way to encourage habitat building.

The Cyclops worked well for the majority of base-necessary functions. The Seatruck goes against that theme and encourages more focus on building bases which ties into the fact there are so many new base-build elements added to this game.

The rear view camera was removed during early access so there is no button for it. I mentioned that we lost the camera element during the Docking Module segment since it makes it harder to pick up a Prawn suit without it.

Is it possible to switch out the order in which you've attached modules, seperating them individually? I built mine as i was going and now id like to change the order in which they are alligned, but can only detach them all at once?

Yes just detach them by riding them on the outside. Look for the yellow bar at the top of the modules.

Try detaching from last module first, then after you have all pieces separated, attach as you want.

@@thomas-yn3ok Grab the yellow bar from the outside and then you can move that module (and anything still attached behind it) as you please. It doesn't matter whether the module the bar is on is attached to a Seatruck or to another module - grab bar, module separates, move as desired.

I’m so disappointed about the removal of the cyclops that I don’t plan to buy the game. This thing is neat as an add on, but as a replacement to the Seamoth and cyclops it’s the worst of both worlds. Huge bummer.

HOW the fuck do i repair that damn seatruck.. dont take this personal but its pain in the ass, that its so hard to find a answear of a little question anywhere.. even on steam no one knows.. do we need a update or some kind of before we can repair our seatrucks and the uhmm i forgot what it was named but the gripling body machine.. :(

I think its an okay idea but why does it need so many inferior modules? Would have been better if its just an empty module that you could build stuff stuff in. If you need more room, then plug more modules.

Below Zero is fun... It's chill... Definitely nowhere near the same vibe as the first game though. Subnautica had a feeling of desolate mystery, a sense of urgency from Kharaa, an intense feeling of isolation. Below Zero has none of these.
