I always found the idea that the seamouth can fly around in space really awesome. The concept of a craft that can travel in both water and space is fascinating and I wish more science fiction franchise used it.

My friend and i agreed on something : there is no perfect vehicle in subnautica , they all have they're flaws- Seamoth - only goes 900, Cyclops - too big PRAWN suit - can't swim It's intresting that the developers made it like this so you have to choose (i chose the PRAWN suit and my friend chose the seamoth as our favourites) *sorry for my grammar

From the game lore, I assumed the cyclops was used only on worlds with liquid seas. Not really a space ship but perfect for exploring worlds like water worlds.

The Cyclops uses a turbine, a turbine that would not work in space. Pressurised air is necessary to move yourself around in space, hence NASA introducing small jetpack devices. The Seamoth can do this, likely a mix between turbine and pressurised air, turbine for water, air for space, or perhaps there is no turbine and in fact the Seamoth uses pressurised air for both water and space, which is possible. The Cyclops is solely sea, supported by it's design, aerodynamics are essentially useless in such a scenario, pressurised air doesn't move you very fast so having a smoothed out design isn't necessary. It is for the Seamoth though as it's sea AND space.

Fun Fact: I Created A Sonar Upgrade For My Cyclops And Seamoth, Since I Use Them The Most, But I Didn’t Know How To Use The Upgrades Throughout The Entire Game, And I Finally Learned How To Use Them When I Went Back To My Save After Completing The Game.

Those vehicles are so useful! I build Snake Corp. versions of them by painting them red and green which is Snake Corp's colors. The Seamoth I mostly use for scouting missions (except the lava zone of course), but I use mostly the Prawn Suit for all other missions including egg collecting, drilling piles of resources, etc.

the best vehicle for usability is the cyclops, mobile food source, built in lockers, portable oxygen, and dont forget the vehicle housing that can optionally repair with a module. the seamoth for speed and maneuverability, and the prawn for its drilling ability, and depth.

I just realized that the planet is even more terrifying that is already making a horror game more scary, the Seamoth can be used in space so maybe it is built to resist many space things, but the ocean and the leviathans damage/destroy it like it's no big deal

I can totally see the sea moths on the concept art being different variants. 3A is the standard civilian version 3B is a military version 3C is a police variant 3D ( the seatruck) and 3E (the sea moth we all know and love) are utility variants.

When I first crafted the cyclops I didn't think it would be that big and I was at least half the size of my base (my base has 7 multipurpose room 2 moon pools 1 scaner room 3 corridors and 1 observatory)

the point about Ryley being able to pilot the Cyclops, it's only a matter of experience and practice. I bumped into a whole heap of stuff on my first run, I'd imagine it's the same for him but eventually he learns how to properly pilot it making him on par with an experienced helmsman who had official training.
