I love how the Adult just, stopped. Saw the baby and took the time to look at it, reminding itself of what it was like when it was young. Probably hundreds if not millions of years ago. And seeing something like that, knowing its species can live on, gave the player mercy, as to not hurt the baby in the process.

From what I could tell from other people videos, as long as you’re not in a seamoth or cyclops the Garg won’t attack you. It notice you, but it seems to be more curious about what are you doing there. Honestly I find it cool that the garg can be a gentle giant towards us and the baby garg.

​​@@ButtmanRises Only the first part of your comment is true, not the second. The PDA states the gargantuan mostly hunts other leviathans, but makes exceptions specifically to hunt intelligent lifeforms, regardless of size.

If I understand what's going on in the mod (and I'm sure there's things that've changed since arriving on Subnautica 2.0), the Egg this baby Garg came from was in a Precursor facility. The Adult Garg in the Void near the Crater likely stayed this close for a Reason, and now we have that reason; Centuries (at least) ago the Precursors took the Garg's egg for study into a cure for Kharaa, and the big guy (or Gal) couldn't physically reach the facility due to it being in the Lost River, so it stayed in the nearby parts of the Deadzone waiting and hoping that its young would escape. The Garg Laid dormant in the Void until the Aurora's Crash woke it up, it gets the munchies from being asleep for hundreds or even thousands of years and eats the Sunbeam, and then we find the egg and bring it to the Void after it hatches. There's a Reason the big guy immediately rushes to the baby Garg and is so thoroughly pacified, this is ITS baby. Most of the comments are thinking this is just a giant creature reacting to a tiny version of itself, but in reality this is a similar situation to the Sea Emperor; a Titanic and intelligent being kept from its young thanks to the Precursor's Meddling (thanks Al-an), and we not only helped free its baby, but we brought it right back to Momma/Pappa (the PDA mentions the creatures of 4546B reproduce Asexually, so the Garg and Emperor are both mom and dad at the same time). I assume that the Garg doesn't immediately turn hostile when we pick up the baby is that it knows we aren't going to hurt it. A Creature THAT big has to be intelligent, and it does (briefly) speak directly to us by hijacking the PDA (asking us if we're ready to die before attacking us if we don't have the baby when we get close enough to it in the Deadzone). It's smart enough to know that we're probably the ones who freed its baby, and it can see that the baby trusts us enough to hang around with us.

It really puts these creatures back into perspective for us. All this time, we’ve just seen gigantic monsters that could easily destroy us without second thought. Here, we see an animal excited to see its young and just sitting there while it gets to see its offspring living. If these creatures were as intelligent as Sea Emperors, I could imagine it saying to the human player “Thank you. My kind has a future after all, thanks to you.”

So that's why the adult garg in Steve kings does size really matter video was sitting in one place when the baby was ther, that's so adorable, I did not know it did that, and in the developers video, ultra violet mango, when the mod started, the document said the adult will swim with its young. No, it won't really attack you unless you are in a vehicle. It may occasionally cause some injuries with its shockwave roar, but that alone isn't nearly as lethal as it may seem unless you happen to be in close proximity during its roar. Other than that, the adult garg is actually pretty chill.
