Some reason I got bored and named two of the Chelicerates in BZ cause for the other two regular overgrown shrimps I couldn't figure out what name would suit them... I named the one in the Purple Vents 'Shimp' (Let's face it, everyone calls them a massive shrimp because of what they look like) and the one next to the Lily pads 'Shard' because I seem to think that 'Shard' s dorsal fin is bigger than 'Shimp' s is even though they're practically the same size but I think that's because of the brinicles in the zone where 'Shard' is And if I had to name a Ghost Leviathan (Or all of them since I get bored easy) then the ones in the Grand Reef would be Casper and Lumia, Uhhhh, The one in the Blood Kelp would probably be Auriana. Uhm, (I'm using a generator for some... I'm bad with coming up with names) The ones in the Lost River would probably be... Nyx, Mist and Salem That's what I would probably name them

This reminds me of a story I wanted to write years ago, right before Subnautica was completed. It was about a researcher bonding with a Reaper named Charlie, one that lives near the left back engines of the Aurora In-game. I wanted to base it off of how certain people have been able to bond with sharks in real life, being able to hand feed them and even pet them.

Thank you! And yeah, I think it’s a bit strange that leviathans don’t exhibit Kharaa physical side effects, except for frozen leviathan. So far, I can’t find an explanation on why, but my guess is that they DO have it, it’s just that the symptoms won’t show.

Leviathans produce enough enyme 42 themselves to survive, but sea dragons produce even more allowing them to spread it

This could actually be real. Reapers are super sensitive to sound, since they use sonar via their roars, so if you raised one from birth, they could theoretically be very easy to give audio commands

​@@davidhamilton6883 I wouldn't say so. Though the PDA did state that, I'm not sure they're as malicious as they are opportunistic. Actually, that's why I think reapers hang out by the Aurora. To eat the cave crawlers lured in by the new "land" and maybe even score some survivors. That sound on par with the animals on earth, and most wouldn't call them malicious; therefore, such categorization may not befall reapers.

Fun fact: The Reaper Leviathan is practically enterly blind. They use their roar as a form of echolocation. Their mandibles also come in handy for that as well. Using the mandibles to feel around their environments.

Great idea for a what if situation, but for me I would rather cure a sea dragon leviathan because I can get close to them without being scared in creator mode, and the sea dragon doesn’t make that horrible terrifying screeching roar if they grab your prawn suit plus sea dragon trumps reaper in a literal lore sense.

I would love this as a mod. You can tame whatever creature you want. As for the story; I would guess the Reaper helps the guy track down the source of the virus, and they explore the underground tunnels to the lab. The Reaper holds off a Sea Dragon while the guy saves the Emperor Leviathan and her babies. He returns to see the Reaper badly wounded. He manages to heal him, but has to head home, leading his Reaper as the guardian of the Safe Shallows to the Mushroom Forest
