On the AKs vs AJs 4 bet preflop hand, fairly deep, when you open jam that flop, what other hands are you jamming with? Your opponents range is heavily weighted with pairs 10’s-K’s, AK and depending on the rec AJ, AQ, 8’s, 9’s and if they’re extremely splashy maybe some wheel combos small pairs. When you get called you’re a 2:1 dog vs pairs and you’re 50/50 to a huge underdog vs any Ax spades. The play looked recish, so I think you’re getting called by both regs and recs more often than not. Wouldn’t a small, shove turn line or a check with plans to check raise on that flop better accomplish your goals. Sure you sacrifice a little EV vs the rare Donk who stacks off w AJs but your trying to capture EV by forcing hands like 8’s-J’s to fold.

Yeah i think if he is a confirmed recreational i prefer x jamming, i wasnt sure in-game what we where dealing with again i think all options are close. In terms of other hands im jamming with its mainly overpairs

27:51 when you have Kings and folded river, wouldn't that make nice x shove on river when you still have AA, KQs and TT in your range?

IMO 3 bet pot, early position caller. When he checks that flop, you can assume that he doesn’t have AK/AQ, but he could still have AA-8’s and maybe a couple of random suited wheel, KQ, 9 10 combos. The opponent checks which doesn’t tell us much, which is why I and many others prefer a small 1/4 pot cbet. On the turn he checks again- if you have AA, JJ 99 you’re not going to check again. You should be building that pot and charging draws. When The Opp bets small 1/3 pot and you call he could have an A, J, 2 pair, a set or a flush/straight draw- you really have no idea. Which is why if you check flop, you have to lead turn. On that river bets small again and based off his play I think he has to call. His Opp could have KJ, QJ or some random combination. You’re probably losing but as played, folding is just too exploitable. If you jam I think you’re repping only 10’s and KQ because AA is raising the draw heavy turn card facing a 1/3 pot bet. Vs a rec- I think you get called by straights, sets and way too 2 pair hands and you’re only getting them to fold 1 pair hands which are highly unlikely in a 3 bet preflop pot.

You can choose to bet range for small or play polar, it doesn't matter to much EV is made on how you execute it (which in this hand i dont think i did that well :D). I think on turn all our sets and especially JJ are checks again. I think blocking turn with KK is a bit to thin in these positions, lets say its SB vs BTN i can see the play. I think arguments for betting to make him tell us what he has are very flawed imo. KJ JQ are never betting turn/river the positions are just way to tight, its either bluff or A+ so then we have to estimate if villain would find enough bluffs and in this case i didnt think villain would so we should just XF and feel pretty good about it. So check flop, check turn (to fold) and if it checks down, now we have a clear valuebet. I think jamming the river is a fine option, i dont think we have much KQs altho probably some, after his small bet on the turn tho we are likely to have raises some sets so we are very heavy towards QQ KK so we have to be a bit carefull.

On the A7 hand, I think the river 3B was too much. There’s only a couple of 2 pair hands that can call and you beat. Vs a rec- they’re likely to jam those hands, along with their nutted hands and you’re in a terrible spot. Forced to fold a high EV hand or call off in a spot where you’re crushed 3/4 of the time.

Hi Kelly, its very close indeed as mentioned, i think once we re-raise and he jams we have a easy fold tho so that makes re-raising a bit nicer in practice then in theory

On the KJs hand where you turn the straight, I think if you decide to check and you’re Opp bets, jamming is the worst possible play. You’re mostly getting called by boats (you’re dead) KJ (chop) and sets/pair plus straight/flush draws, which has decent equity against you’re straight. You’re forcing your opponents to fold their naked flush draws and bluffs which you dominate. Why not reraise pot to keep the draws/sets in or potentially shove and then ck the river to them on a blank to invite them to shove weak or bluff?

I dont like the x jam either, i think XC down vs agro player is good, and betting vs more passive players ourselves. The benefit of x jam is that you prevent potcontrols from Ax on the river but don't think in this case it matters... i also remember thinking about action killers hitting the river but since the board is paired this actually does not apply, lets say its 8TQA i like x jamming already way more but would likely just keep on betting myself. I btw dont think we have to raise smaller to keep trips in, i think being greedy vs a rec is best as they will overrate TP+ type of hands
