3:00 RR is thrilled for the finals in the first game, but LR2 failed to continue from here. He was depressed at the beginning of the second game, looking for a way to regain his fame, while originally he was proud to find a worthy challenger.

You’re totally right! This is one of LR2’s biggest missteps in my opinion.

I haven't played 2K Drive but I can understand what you mean. Winning from someone who cheats all the time doesn't sound as rewarding as winning from a champion who's done it fair and square.

Agreed! RR is the goat.

and beating someone who masters speed and warping is just satisfying, beating an opponent on his own track? cool af

Personally for me, i think shadow z acts more like a foil to clutch racington and to extention the protagonist himself. For Clutch, he's basically rocket racer but now a charismatic mentor (or doc hudson depending on how you see it) who plays fair and is generally a well experienced racer overall. While shadow z on the other hand is a dirty cheating coward who lets other people do the the work for him and just an awful person in general. I also like how he's meant to be a cationary tale for cheating and how it won't get you far. (I know that's a common lesson for racing media, but i did find it really interesting since I'm looks deep into anything). So overall Shadow Z is Personally one of the reasons why i love the game in general.

I haven’t played it but I assumed that they would reveal that Shadow Z was the Brickster or something like that. Ulterior motives, suddenly the game becomes about something more than just racing to win-I dunno, seemed like it could’ve been fun.

That would’ve been wild.

Great little video. Recently got to try out and Lego 2k Drive and while there's a LOT wrong with it IMO, it's still amusing a game from over 20 years ago is still able to one up it. But lacking a solid a foil as Rocket Racer, who despite only getting three short videos (the Intro, when you beat Gypsy Moth to be able to challenge Rocket and when you do beat him) shows so much character and feel like a legit competitor. Let alone when you DO race him and he abuses Warps just as much as you do. Definitely has a fear install when going against him. And then there's Shadow Z, who carries absolutely zero menace. Honestly the whole thing feels like someone following bullet points about The Lego Movie, understanding ZERO about made that work. And ends up being like a Poor Mans Mod Nation Racers at best. Not to mention all the other stuff going against 2k Drive.

3:16 Hey dude, If you play the game's latest update, And try to go around each world to find every Infobox. Some of them will show you a audio recording of the back story of the Main villain of *"Lego: 2K Drive"* Where to start? You just need to go to the back of the building, That's right in the front of the *"Sky Trophy"* Once you completed the game. To find the first audio recording of who was before named Shadow Z, It would even show you Why he's rude?
