I made a bestfriend in college after spending the first month alone. We spent every second of every day together. I don't think I've ever talked to someone more. I listened to this song nonstop before I met them. It was a soundtrack to this inescapable loneliness that surrounded me. I stopped listening to it once I actually escaped my depression hole. Well I fell out recently with them, and dropped out of college, and lost all of my friends. I've never felt more alone than now, and I don't know what to do. This song seeped back into my life. It's so cathartic. I want someone to take away everything from me and see the world through my eyes. I thought I found that I really did, but life doesn't seem to ever let me catch a break. While I hope I never have to come back to this song ever again, it really is such a beautiful peace of art.

The line “nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn either way” sounds scary to a lot of people but my friend and I play this to remind ourselves that whatever big problems we may have it’s not the end of the world. we are part of something bigger and only our egos make us exaggerate the importance of trivial matters. It’s something the stoics and the Buddhists amongst others employ in their philosophies . It’s grounding and while it can be scary it’s often overlooked and very much so needed

This song is a brilliant statement of partnership, and the faith two partners -- be it lovers, best friends, brothers, sisters -- have in each other. They work together and are loyal to each other. "I'll take you where nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn" -- Given this line, I've always imagined two people meeting in or moving to a town far from where they once lived, where all their riddled past is forgiven and let be. Either they don't feel the need to know each others' pasts, in a silent agreement to trust each other despite anything, or it's to bring them to a place where no one knows their past except the one who believes in them and who understands, and through that they can be free of it.

First time hearing on First episode of Drop out, based on Elizabeth Holmes. It pulled me in after only a few seconds that was played on the background. Love it from Southern California.

Same! I just started watching Drop Out, and immediately had to find this song. Now I'm obsessed with it and the video! Also from SoCal.
