When it comes to music, I know most GENRES.... And I am as eclectic as they come. My 20 year old son played this in his car as we were driving home the other night... It is forever INSTILLED in my memory. In fact, I am positive it has TRIBAL overtones and I am connected to it. John Reed- sorry to hear about your wife. My wife divorced me after 20.5 years --- 6 years ago. I am just now recovering. It destroyed me, God bless all of us. The Human experience can get rough sometimes.

I made a bestfriend in college after spending the first month alone. We spent every second of every day together. I don't think I've ever talked to someone more. I listened to this song nonstop before I met them. It was a soundtrack to this inescapable loneliness that surrounded me. I stopped listening to it once I actually escaped my depression hole. Well I fell out recently with them, and dropped out of college, and lost all of my friends. I've never felt more alone than now, and I don't know what to do. This song seeped back into my life. It's so cathartic. I want someone to take away everything from me and see the world through my eyes. I thought I found that I really did, but life doesn't seem to ever let me catch a break. While I hope I never have to come back to this song ever again, it really is such a beautiful peace of art.

The line “nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn either way” sounds scary to a lot of people but my friend and I play this to remind ourselves that whatever big problems we may have it’s not the end of the world. we are part of something bigger and only our egos make us exaggerate the importance of trivial matters. It’s something the stoics and the Buddhists amongst others employ in their philosophies . It’s grounding and while it can be scary it’s often overlooked and very much so needed

i found this song when i was in highschool and i wanted to unalive myself. "nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn anyway" used to hurt me and it clashed with the eclectic joy of the song but almost 10 years, some therapy, and some space later "nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn" is so freeing and this song is so freeing and i am so happy that i remembered this song existed

I feel the same way. It’s such a perfect dichotomy between pain that used to be and joy in the moment… it feels like waking up in a new house with light coming through the windows… Bittersweet but somehow pure unadulterated joy. Or something. Ha. It feels better and better to be known.

Give me your eyes I need sunshine Give me your eyes I need sunshine Your blood Your bones Your voice And your ghost We've both been very brave Walk around with both legs Fight the scary day We both pull the tricks out of our sleeves But I'll believe in anything And you'll believe in anything Said I'll believe in anything And you'll believe in anything If I could take the fire out from the water I'd share a life and you'd share a life If I could take the fire out from the water I'd share a life and you'd share a life If I could take the fire out from the water I'd take you where nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn Said nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn And I could take another hit for you And I could take away your trips from you And I could take away the salt from your eyes And take away the spitting salt in you And I could give you my apologies By handing over my neologies And I could take away the shaking knees And I could give you all the olive trees Oh look at the trees and look at my face and look at a place far away from here Give me your eyes I need sunshine Give me your eyes I need sunshine Your blood Your bones Your voice And your ghost We've both been very brave Walk around with both legs Fight the scary day We both pull the tricks out of our sleeves But I'll believe in anything And you'll believe in anything If I could take the fire out from the water I'd share a life and you'd share a life If I could take the fire out from the water I'd share a life and you'd share a life If I could take the fire out from the water I'd take you where nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn I said nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn I said nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn either way About your blood Your bones Your voice And ghost Because nobody knows you And nobody gives a damn either way And now I'll believe in anything

This song was my first exposure to Wolf Parade. I remember listening to it as a teen on one of my trips up to Canada to visit relatives. They still are my favourite band to this day and I'm currently kicking myself about not scoring a ticket to their last concert before the pandemic hit.

This is he first song I've heard from these guys and his voice was reminding me a bit of someone and I was bothered so bad until I realized what it was. At times I hear bits of INTERPOL's vocal style. Anyone else?

This song is a brilliant statement of partnership, and the faith two partners -- be it lovers, best friends, brothers, sisters -- have in each other. They work together and are loyal to each other. "I'll take you where nobody knows you and nobody gives a damn" -- Given this line, I've always imagined two people meeting in or moving to a town far from where they once lived, where all their riddled past is forgiven and let be. Either they don't feel the need to know each others' pasts, in a silent agreement to trust each other despite anything, or it's to bring them to a place where no one knows their past except the one who believes in them and who understands, and through that they can be free of it.

First time hearing on First episode of Drop out, based on Elizabeth Holmes. It pulled me in after only a few seconds that was played on the background. Love it from Southern California.
