Mientras matias entrenaba con la mejor escuela del boxeo, fuera de su país haciendo sparring con boxeadores mexicanos, entrenando en la altura en México y sacrificando no ver a su familia por meses,el argentino fiel a su costumbre de no progresar y no hacer sacrificios para llegar a la élite del boxeo, el resultado fue lo que ya se esperaba.
