The Brush is currently primary white, since its colour is supposed to shade the colours you defined in the layers below.

where do you get the shaders? I just have substance painter and I'm unsure where to find the fur and shadows for shading for propertier - paint

i honestly don't understand your question. the furbrush is a material for substance painter, to be used with the layersetup and a filter to create furpatterns that interact witheachother. I do sell it seperately at gumroad: gumroad.com/l/hxlDG But, it requires the basic knowledge of substance painter, I do give some additional help but I do not give substance Painter courses for people completely new to it. you should be fairly comfortable with layers and texture channels inside substance before proceeding to get furbrush.

@@Eslar i had alrdy bought that btw, but what I mean is you have a setting under the properties - fill when you have your brush set in materials. when ya scroll down you have the hair, fur, shadow, and tweaking... the fur and shadows I'm kinda curious how you got them... (yes I did recently get substance, but my friend has been teaching me a lot of the basics)

@@ruza6873 oh. Ok. So these settings are from the first version, when reworking it i got feedback from people using it and it was basically "not using that" so i didn't reimplement the shadow color. All the settings available are in the Fur, hair and tweaking groups. If you prefer the old way, the files for V1 are inside the gumroad downloads.

Hello i recently bought the brush and it works perfectly, the only thing is that every time that I close and restart my file the references of the smart material seem to break. And I cant continue with what I had and I have to start all over. Is there a way to prevent this?

the smartmaterial should have nothing to do with the file after the first import, are you one of the people wich added me on discord lately? if yes i have time for the next few hours to figure something out.

@@Eslar Im having a similar issue actually. Its like Substance3D is deleting everything but the basematerial on each launch. Was there ever a fix for this?

@@MisutaaAsriel Try running it as admin by right clicking the app shortcut and pressing Run as administrator or try saving your project in a non system folder like documents if it isn't already. Lemme know if this helps!

Is there any way to get a Brighter White Fur?? then a Grey White fur??? i tryed changing the opacity to lower but it losses all the Details and only looks like a Normal map >,

Right klick the "Blending" Layer Add a "Levels" sublayer Make Shure it is set to base color. Move the black slider of the lower side up. Or use the upper middle slider to get what you want.

Now I use the brush the height mapping is gone so now it just looks like toon fur

(thanks youtube for showing me this 6 days late) you should check the project, does your project have a height channel? if not you'd need to create that, or use one of the Metallic pbr presets for the project. also check that you do not replace the height data somewhere above the fur layers. The last seconds, with the height Map doesn't work for me. :( I don't know why. I've set the mixing for the height maps for Nose etc, to "normal". Doesn't change a thing.

Make shure "above" the last furbrush layer you have a fill layer wich has only height selected. yust make a new fill, deselect everything but Height and place it inside the "other things" foldr where the belnding mode for height is normal.

The colors and the fur structure are added separately. After painting on the fur you can go i to the fur colors folder in which are 2 premade colors and the background color. You want to use them as a starting point to make your patterns

Substance converts the height map to the normal map if you have it enabled on the export settings yes

Officially No. The current presets are made with 2020.2 so substance doesn't take them in earlier versions. But you can make them yourself if you know what you are doing. But it is untested and I don't know how compatible the substance designer files are.

Hey the shadow parameters in the brush doesn't show for me, and that was the most important feature for my work

@WolfGuy You can get it in 2 ways. 1. The "old" brush is in the gumroad files as the "old" brush. 2. You can add a gradient filter to the data layer and use it to color the lower shading o to a color.

The setup is made for the pbr metal roughness preset in substance. Feel free to send a friend request so we can write. But I am sorry I am currently busy renovating my house and tomorrow I have to help counting votes. So the earliest I will be able to help is somewhere in the evening on sunday, may be 20:00EST but probaply even later.

substance doesn't allow for backwards compatibility. the oldest version i can create the tools for is 2020.2.2 since that is the oldest version i have access to. if you can not (or don't want to) upgrade please contact me privately via one of the channels in the video description with the email adress you bought the brush with and I'll give you a refund.

You have to choose the correct types for the files. Feel free to contact me via discord @eslar#0621 or telegram @eslar But I definitely will update this tutorial and create a text version into the gumroad files this weekend. I agree that the current version is not satisfying or complete.
