Suburito - Sword Training

This thing is a trainer at heart but as you can see you wouldn't mind having a few laying around the house. This was meant to be used as a trainer for Japanese swords but we also wanted to show you they're pretty fun too.

The Cold Steel Suburito has a curve to help orient you to where a live blade should be facing. It is a heavy trainer, but in time, it becomes lighter as you get stronger and build your technique

Man, speaking of cricket bats... Cold Steel had the 'Liverpool Assassin', which basically was the (IMO) most badass home defence cricket bat. It's beyond me that the product, now discontinued if I'm not wrong, didn't received the credit deserved. I have one and it's amazing :-)

They did make an executioner sword it’s part of their warrior katana lineup or some thing like that they just posted the video with the Asian guy like a week ago and it has the executioner sword version in it

@@crowbrocaw no, they didn't. An executioner's sword was used to.. well.. execute people, obviously and were European in origin. They were used in place of an axe when someone of higher status needed to be executed as they were more efficient at decapitation and the executioner using it generally more trained. Historically, axes had a more toothy edge and tore through the neck rather than slicing. The executioner's sword, on the other hand, performed clean cuts that were supposedly quick and much less painful. Cold Steel has yet to produce one

i've been using one of these for over 20 years, it looks like a thicker bokken and weighs almost 2 kilos. after about 10 minutes of warm-up, I step into the common bokken and hit a reinforced punching bag. over time, both the bokken and the metal katana became very light and fast. I learned right away in my first kenjutsu classes (Niten) and I keep myself in good shape until today using it.

Legit, I just got this thing delivered on a whim. Thought it was gonna be smaller because of no banana for reference. Bruh. This thing solid AF. Feels great in the hand and it certainly does have some heft to it. Theeeen I decided to look up stuff to do with it and found this video. Now I just want a buncha tires to smack.

I've literally punted 2 letter bottles twenty or thirty feet with swords before. Some bottles are just stupid tough. Even with good edge alignment sometimes they just don't want to give it up.

@Aniquin Me too. Out of curiosity what Albions do you own. I have the Laird and the Kern. Although I really want their Landsknecht and their Falchion too. But I also have swords from Arms & Armor, Del Tin, Angus Trim, Darksword Armory, Valiant Armory, Baltimore Knife and Sword, Zombie Tools, Windlass Steelcrafts, Hanwei, Ronin Katana, etc. etc. I own a lot of swords. An even though some cold steel swords are ok at best there are a few gems. Like the MAA Messer, Hunting Sword, or any of their sabers. An their machetes are great for teaching people how to use a sword. That way if they hit a rock or a nail I'm not out a $1,000 sword.

Keep this training device by your bed. Very effective! ;) Similar to the Korean Bo Staff. Basically a farmers broom handle. But this Suburito won't break!

You could, but being plastic it'll lose its edge the second it hits a hard surface. My advice is to use it as is -the more you train, the faster you swing. The impact velocity will cause serious damage for sure.
