I did have the game for about 4 days, and nothing changed. The only thing that worked was turning off ultra graphics mode, which fixed the bug with coins but not powerups. Even reinstalling the whole thing didn't work for me

Played it, it actually fun AF. There's way more challenges in the game instead of just running away from the guard and dogs. There's reaction time skill check, and also requires You to make split second decision making while you're running. Graphics is insanely good and I personally dig the new redesigns. I give it a 10/10, I wouldn't uninstall this game

This "sequel" game doesn't offer anything original, if they want to up the ante they should introduce 3 tunnel system where each tunnel leads you to different location and maybe one of them is a dead end. Another addition they should make is hidden underground level with super rare prizes. The last thing they could add is story panels behind every character for lore

I'd like to start off by saying thanks for pointing out some new things in the game. I didn't even know there was an ultra graphics mode since I haven't been able to play it yet. But I would just like to point out some things. So, saying everyone *used* to play the game and *some* still do wouldn't really be right. Many players play daily (millions I think) and more and more join each day. The game has had over 4 billion downloads in its lifespan, which still thrives today. If you have seen the animated series, you can hear similarities in the music in the theme of this game. More similar than tag. But I can definitely see where you are coming from on there, I think I would have compared tag and city themes too. Bonus, you can hear some of the Subway Surfers main theme in it, the part around 0:30 where it rises. The character models, yes, a major upgrade in some ways. Some of the models aren't my favorite but aren't bad. The redesigned look of Yutani is the one that confuses me the most. She looks like she came from a journey in a forest in a way. I would strongly agree with your first reason of why not to do any in app purchases. It's in soft launch and yes, you can lose some stuff. But the second reason seems very unlikely. The game was originally called Hoverboard Heroes and was being developed by Boom808. I don't know much info about this company, but now the game has been turned into this one. So making all those graphics, character designs, and features all for nothing would be a huge waste. I don't think SYBO would purposefully waste time like that. Yes, the game is a soft launch. I can see why you expected more, but it seems this game was made fairly recently. 2022/2023 maybe. So making all of this redesigned content with fresh new graphics would take a lot more time than adding some features. Keep in mind that the original Subway Surfers used to be where you were limited to one location, one new character, and one board per tour basically. Nowadays, we get at least 2 characters, 1-2 outfits, many boards, and different places you can travel to in events. And that's minimizing all of the new stuff heavily. There's stuff like the boombox, progress saving, new gamemodes etc. the list goes on. Subway Surfers City can get MANY new features in the future, so I would keep my hopes up about that seeing what happened with Subway Surfers and that this is a new game. Lastly, I wish you would have taken your ratings a bit more seriously. I don't want any of this to be taken in a rude way, I would just like to let you know about some things.

My issue with the game as a kid was its going infinitely without being able to quit and resume later, like a Hardcore minecraft run. Doing that would DRASTICALLY change the gaming experience for anyone. But still, having *levels* with an actual *finish line* and a sort of lore is what would REALLY make Subway Surfers relevant again. Otherwise is a pointless wallets cleaner with no purpose other than keeping Gen Z attention span in videos

The pink square is a missing texture. They most likely would use a transparant png texture with sparkles or something when you pick up a coin. But when the texture is missing, it just shows as pink/purple.

Well, the graphics are "modern", and I hope there are characters that are so bad getting a highscore with them is a challenge we can do.
