all you need to know is that on the xbox 360 version of minecraft you can just look at the crafting table and press the inventory/craft button and craft by proximity just like Terraria has it, but you have to look at the crafting table

Straight to the point? I'm sorry but i don't see any point that was made aside from you saying that mojang "can't do something" what is that something, what made 4j so different. Nothing in the video proved that, the only evidence i could find was those minigames and even then there are servers you can play for the same experience. I'm not mad or anything just confused, as all you did was waffle for four minutes straight saying mojang miss an opportunity, which is understandable but I'd like to know what 4j did and how there direction was better.

Compared to bedrock 4Js port feels PERFECT. I played a pot of it in the past and then I started playing bedrock after not having played for a while and I immediately felt like something was off. It didn't feel like how java does and didn't feel like console edition either. It just felt wrong

@@binksreviews With the exception of a bug with throwing loyalty tridents freezing your game sometimes, its performance is great, and most other bugs are useful or neutral so overall it pretty much is (coming from someone who hosts a server on legacy ps4 and has been playing primarily on the version for a while now).

The new textures are overly-detailed for textures that are only 16 x 16 pixels wide, they have too many colors and it hurts the contrast by making blocks look like you've put a blur filter over them, not also counting the rules broken in the general pixel art sphere (banding, noise pixels)

I know Minecraft can’t stay the same forever but the old textures were good, don’t get me wrong the new ones are very detailed but man… I miss the rocky texture of the nether. It was good castles, but when I convert an old world the castle just looks ugly.

What I miss most about Console Edition is the tutorial worlds. In addition to getting you started on the basics of Minecraft, they were a great showcase for what was possible to build. Just thinking about the original Xbox tutorial world is really nostalgic.

I agree, Minecraft console edition is the best game on a technical level that’s unmatched from bedrock’s terrible mobile version, it will never truly see its full potential because of dealing with mobile platforms!

It’s not really the fault of the mobile platforms, it’s the fact that Mojang just uses mobile platforms as an excuse to never do what 4J has done, people have made have shown them that it’s possible to do what 4J did for all platforms and they just say “mobile has limitations sorry”

I’ve made peace with bedrock since it came to Xbox in 2017, but legacy edition will forever remain the version of Minecraft that is most important to me. It’s also crazy how legacy edition is not very well known within today’s younger Minecraft audience.

On the ps4 you can easily go between modern bedrock and 'legacy' which is forever at the 1.14 update, and it looks and plays so much better than the current bedrock.

Microsoft probably makes more direct money from Bedrock because of downloadable content but most of the free advertising seems to come from people playing modded Java on KZbin. Without Java both Microsoft and Google/KZbin would probably lose alot of money. Microsoft probably wants to leave Java behind but can't afford to and is trying to gradually push people onto Bedrock so that it's more financially viable. I'm not an expert but that's my theory.

The game try’s its best not to crash by limiting the amount of explosions and block updates at a time to avoid a crash do the same with a superflat but with sand and air blocks with no bedrock below it then break a sand block the sand that falls will slowly do so with a few at a time until they despawn (or reach the bedrock floor and become solid again) in the void so that the game doesn’t crash

As a PlayStation user, the best thing about the better together update was being able to move worlds from your PlayStation 4 to PC, and with the option to transfer PS3 worlds to PS4, i was able to move some of the worlds i have stored from back when i was a kid and archive it to my pc, forever available for me just go back and re-experience childhood memories. Yea, it feels different, but still a good way to preserve memories.

Overall, the solidity of console edition was better. When they replaced it with bedrock, they made a horrible mistake in my opinion. I think they should of made Bedrock feel and look like Java before making the replacement. This kinda reminds me of the 1.9 Update, and how it split the community when it came to PVP. Overall, so far I believe Bedrock will never replace Java Edition until they decide to make a move to fix that issue. And that's likely never gonna happen now because of the choice they made back when they replaced LCE, all we can do is wait on them, or the community makes an alternative. There is actually been some work with a decompilation of legacy console edition, so I can see a revival of it. I saw some netherite mod for it, and a mouse & keyboard mod, so yeah, do what you will with that information.

they’re working on making Bedrock more similar to Java. It’s been happening slowly, but overall they’re way closer than they were 5 years ago pretty soon, the biggest feature difference will be spectral arrows

While I love bedrock edition, it's the majority of the player base's version and allows for crossplay which is huge, there definetly needs to be some more stand out features. You have snowy trees, the cauldrons, and the wither which people love. But apart from the bugs being fixed ofc, one thing they need to do is have like tutorial worlds again and make them specific to each platform on bedrock edition, maybe with skins as like a distinction.

I feel like you should have gone more in depth with this video. Give some examples and go into those examples and see what they did right from a user, gameplay, and game design, perspective as well as a player perspective. Go over the different ways 4J split from majang and the ways they stuck to mojang. Maybe make another video on this topic in the future that goes over the strengths that are present in LCE while acknowledging its faults and the bugs that could be considered worse than bedrock. Great video overall I just wish I went more in depth on the points being made because otherwise it feels more like a nostalgia trip.

My first experience with Minecraft was on Xbox 360, all the way back in TU1. I also played the game on a CRT, because that was the gaming TV in our house. We had a big flatscreen, but that was for movies and cable TV only. I'll never forget playing the TU1 tutorial world on that old grainy CRT, a true feeling of nostalgia like no other. I was a kid back then and I'm an adult now. Even playing old beta versions of java just doesn't compare in the slightest for me. I miss the old days dearly.

I’ll never forget the first time my world got updated to bedrock and i literally become nauseous, lmao. Still I just can’t play Minecraft with infinite worlds, I find it really pointless, I’ve given up waiting for it to return and the methods to make one manually seem really complex. With add ons being more supportive in bedrock plus updating to support more game interaction experience with add ons we will only see better ones over time and being able to update the game still having the add ons working without crashing. Java you would have to updated all mods and hope the people that make them get them updated or your stuck on that version of Minecraft. I love Java but with shaders coming to bedrock and hardcore this is a huge step forward.

Legacy edition is probably the second best way to play Minecraft. The crafting table felt so organised even tho it didn't had by default the way you were supposed to find recipes on your own but fun fact you can actually change that by the settings! It had the mini games , you could custom your own rules on them and indo your worlds too. It had mash ups worlds for FREE! and you could actually play them and do stuff on them they even had unique music to them while you were playing . I remember playing the Fallout 3 mash up and the Christmas one . 4J studios did so many things to the console edition and i am happy they were like this . I just wish mojang hires them again to make it cross platform the way Legacy edition was .

I wish Console edition became bedrock instead of P.E edition becoming bedrock ( but Ik that was probably impossible due to compatibility with mobile) , or they could have just made an entirely new version of the game for bedrock from the ground up instead of just building it over pocket edition. That would have probably fixed a-lot of the issues regarding lag and the game feeling like a mobile port. They also should at least add mini games , custom world types ( super flat, amplified, biome size changer , ect ) , and a way to manual save/exit without saving/ turn on and off auto save, and tutorial worlds . That way bedrock could at least have the features from old console edition that are missing.

Things I miss from console: New Tutorial Worlds every major update. So much more custom super flat customisation, much more than Bedrock and arguably Java. I used to have so much fun making an entire world out of TNT, spawning a creeper in and lighting it up. It even ran better than Java and Bedrock would today.

The demo on PS3 is what originally got me into Minecraft back in 2013 and I honestly really hate how Bedrock ended up using the Mobile version as the baseline because Bedrock would have so much less hate had the legacy console versions as the basis

Console edition had one thing that greatly helped it become superior too. It respected java. It understood its position and did not try to be a thinly veiled replacement. It knew its place and worked well within its bounds and become exceedingly great within. It wasnt THE Minecraft, but an extension or retelling of it.

@@Name25631 no it’s literally not, making a bedrock server uses realms, Java also has realms, it’s incredibly simple on both versions to create a server to play with a few friends but you have to pay, it’s only when you want to add plugins and have large amounts of players that you have to do a lot of work to set it up, and even then it’s really not that hard if you follow a tutorial

@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd I mean just for a simple minecraft world, you can do multiplayer on bedrock without making a server. in my case making a server is harder than simple multiplayer since my server cannot connect to internet. not everyone has the same skill level or use case, so for me the multiplayer world system in bedrock is easier than paying or setting up a java server. I get that it can be simple, but I'm too stupid to get it working

Bedrock had its name changed to just Minecraft cause Bedrock is on more platforms and they wanted people to know that it's cross play on all those platforms cause its just Minecraft. And Java got the Edition cause its a PC thing.

I think the fact that all the modern Minecraft versions are all the same. Back in the day thanks to version exclusive features. There was actually a reason to own multiple copys on multiple platforms. It made the game more exciting.

I remember in 2017 how dejected me and the rest of console edition community were about the switch to Bedrock. The console editions were so good, ran well (in the later years at least) and still look amazing to this day. Bedrock will never cut it and while I love Java, I'll always miss booting up Xbox One edition and inviting a few friends to play the battle minigame. I kept playing console until 2021 but I still wish they continued to update it.

i seriously wish they would bring the Mini games back. imagine if they made it a free to the base game. put all the DLC Battle maps into their respective bundles and it had Cross Play unlike the original modes. that would be PERFECT!! hell maybe it could garter more interest after release and they could make more DLCs come with battle maps like the Batman one or Sonic. it could really dam fun!

I think you could've gone far deeper into these points then you did, but you're right. Legacy console edition had a finished polish. It had tutorial worlds, menus that felt right on a controller, charming skin packs and texture packs for fair prices, that didn't feel like they were scamming you, just adding on to the game. Compare that to Bedrock where the game seems to have lost its artistic direction, choppy menus coated with minimalism, horrible Redstone, in game currency, etc. The game feels more like a service than a game you'd purchase and then have in full.

Honestly, everybody talk shit about bedroom edition and yeah, it's a worse version but it's also the only version that's cross platform Meaning those of us who want to play with friends who do not have a PC have to play that version and if you're already starting worlds on Bed rock you're going to want to keep on working those worlds even if you're only using that version so you can play with your friends
