IF YOU SOUND BAD WITHOUT IT, YOU WILL SOUND JUST AS BAD WITH IT. It’s not some type of musical cheat code 💀 That’s the huge misconception people have about autotune. It’s pitch correction, it’s not gonna completely alter your voice. If you’re not in key it literally does nothing for you lol.

There's something gritty about songs that are sung without autotune that make the song that much better. This grittiness is what adds impact. I come from an orchestral background which oftentimes requires a delicate touch. This grittiness is absolutely an essential aspects of a song. Even some orchestral pieces add in rougher play to add emphasis. Autotune removes nearly all of that. Sure the notes are correct but the musicality of it seems to be missing somehow. There are certainly ways around this, but it seems that in a typical situation autotune removes much of the aspects of music that make it appreciable.
