I am happily watching this video in a hotel room in Boston! Thanks for a great retrospective on the Petty Family and Daytona! And yes indeed, 9 wins out of the first 24? And cheers to Pete Hamilton-I hope to hear more about him!

I’m curious about what daily driver cars Lee, Richard and the Chief had throughout the years!

Fact isn't bragging 🏁 Think about this fast from The Kings first win in 64 to his 7th in 81. 7 wins in 18 tries a 39% win ratio. 🏆 incredible 💙

I switched the tv off at the 190 lap crash. Another disappointing Daytona 500. Richard summed it up for me when he said “NASCAR used to be a race, now it’s a show “ I’d rather be watching you guys!

Richard also won his 125 mile twin in 1977 and a 50-mile race to determine the front row in 1964 (the only year for that race).

There is no doubt about the Petty family is legendary in the races at Daytona. Do you guys remember the North Turn Grill?

Was Red Myler with Holman Moody when Lorenzen won the 1965 Daytona 500? If so, that's another extended Petty family legacy Daytona win.

As Richard said, "when you cheat, you have to cheat neat." Maurice obliged. You could not run in the top 10 unless you did. The only teams that didn't, were Wood Brothers and Holman Moody. Every other team did everything they could. And did. And it made the sport, not like it is today.
