My Black Widows grew up successfully on their own, in the wild! I revisit the Black Widows (Latrodectus variolus) I realeased as babies 9 months ago to find them doing very well AND they have mates. These Northern Black Widows are native to the forest I released them in but their numbers were dropping. This area is away from human population densities and is a safe and beneficial place for both the spiders and the ecosystem. Black Widows are important members of the ecosystem and help create a healthy balance by keeping prey items in check as well as feeding important predators. #animals #nature #science #cute
